Is there any one/web site out there can explain on how a muffler works or on how the mechanic looks like?
I know that a well designed muffler would increase power, but why and how? Is it the lenght?
What is inside this cylindrical muffler tube?

Thanks!

Here is the basics of 2 stroke operation and the generated pressure wave:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-stroke_cycle

you could study one of these:

Or this:
http://www.readyheli.com/Hatori_Jason_Krause_Special_Pipe_O_S_Hyper_50_SA_p/sab-50hp.htm

Somewhere there is a picture of a Muscle Pipe cut in half showing it's internal parts. If I find it I can come back here and post a link to it. But I have to question why re-invent the wheel?

The main differece I saw in my SAB-50 HP from a regular (Non-Tuned) Exhaust is. The regular exhaust was basically a Hollow Pipe with the exhaust port. The Tuned pipe has another chamber in it, along with some curved piping inside for the outlet as well. Definately different than a regular pipe.

a std pipe just muffles the eng ....... a tuned pipe is one as on my race boats can be ajusted in lenth to what they call on the pipe ,,, some like ones on helis are tuned just for the one engine like the OS 50 SX Hyper ... tuning gets the gasses in the pipe to bounce back and some of the gasses refill the engine along with incoming fuel and air to simply increase the compression or super charge each stroke with the gasses from the pipe of the last stroke
