Looked on my plan sheet and they show coupling two torque rods to one, then ONE elev. servo. Did I miss something as I saw a post saying that 2 elev. servos are used? Thanks

Nicolas,
Just a quick note, why afterburner lights?
L39 does not have an afterburner.

Oh. I didn't know that.
Anyway, don't tell me now Batman isn't flying the real size plane either... ???
I have no intention of flying scale competition... just love the gadget.

Ok Fellas here is something to watch out for.

I have about 20 flights on my L-39 now, and at that point I try to do a thurough go around after all parts have had a chance to work in. I noticed that the landing gear have extended a bit and now touching ( only slightly) and binding on the in board fiberglass flange lip that the gear door seats onto. Simple fix, I sanded that flange off between the 2 door hinges.

Problem solved.

Just a quick note on the tail mod I made, IT IS WORKING PERFACT!!!!

Enjoy.

hi Kevin,

I had noticed this would happen when assembling the kit and I had drilled a tiny bolt in the strut so the main legs could not extend that far.
It didn't make any difference to the good functioning of the landing gear anyway, as the spring action did not reach that far.
Photos later.

Nicolas.

Hi,

Here's what I did to prevent in advance what Kevin described... the 2mm secure nut has exactly the thickness needed so the leg cannot fully extend and touch the fuselage when retracting.
The oleo spring has in this position almost no tension anyway.

Note also the Robart quick disconnects, and the Multiplex single connector for both wing servos (extension leads always redundant and in hi-duty wire as well...)

Nicolas.

Afterburner lights // PIMPING MY RIDE !!!
----------------------------------------------------
Just received all lights (beacons, afterburner, headlights,...) !

I have pimped my Batmobile ride already with the afterburner... wow that's a lot of light and very realistic "burning effect" when opening full throttle !!

PS. I am working out a custom made set for the JL L-39 with the light manufacturer, I have just sent my own thermo forms of the tip tank nose cones to his factory so this complete set should be available within a week or so.
These beacons, anti collision lights and headlights are very bright light, as these are powerful Luxeons and not LEDs (like the afterburner). Really nice electronics too.
(Note that the afterburner is not scale -see John's post-, and hence not in the set.)

This custom L-39 set will be available soon from :
DreamWorks RC (in the USA) / JetsRC (Chile) / JetCat Spain (Spain & Portugal) / Modellbau Senn (Switzerland) / Flugmodellbau (Germany).

Enjoy !
Nicolas
