Status: offline 		P2W should be OK with that engine and that weight . I just picked mine up today and will be using the DA 85 and one A123 on the rx and some smaller capacity cells with the same chemistry as the A123's. I forget the name of the website, but there is such a source. I will also be lightening it up with CF and removed wood and expect 22 pounds or less...

On your web-site is shows the canister tunnel painted White, did someone do that as a part of the build to look good? or to seal it? Mine is sealed with clear and looks good, just wonder why the prototype was showing a White canister Tunnel?

They are not A123, but they are the same chemistry. Don't let the non-a123 thing fool you. As a matter of fact, A123 cells are also made in China by the same manufacturer that makes the Dewalt batteries. It's all the same chemistry, just with a different brand name. And A123 isn't the brainchild behind this stuff, anyway - some nerds at MIT or some other technical University are.
If you are interested in his batteries, his name is Robert Chang and you can email him at allbattery@21cn.net.
I have not yet placed an order, but I was told he is willing to sell in small quantities. I think I am going to go with a single A123 pack on the rx and the no. 110004 1200mah batteries on the ignition. I imagine they only weigh about 1.6oz/cell. If so, I may just order 6 of them and have a little redundancy on the Rx while still only having a 10 ounce battery power system

Where did you buy your battery packs from? I could only find 2300 mAh on Horizon for 60$.

Originally we planned to have the tunnel come painted in all white like it shows in the pictures, unfortunatley it was not very easy for the manufacturer to do and so we decided to have it come with the clear just like the firewall.

Missed your post entirely.
Whoops. They are 2300 mAh. Couple of ways to get them. Lots of vendors sell them and the 2-cell pre-made packs are around $60. The other option if you're good with a soldering iron is to build your own packs. The cells are the same as the 36 Volt Dewalt lithium power pack (available on Ebay.) The 36 volt pack (10 cells) can be had for around $100-110 shipped, and that will make 5 packs, so its dramatically cheaper.

Another Question for Aero-works and the Pilots who have the 75cc Extra 260; Is one HS-5955 enough for the Rudder? Is the geometry correct with a 3" Arm and Cables straight back?

Status: offline 		Yes, and yes. The plane they used for testing only had one 5955. My 35% only had one 5955 and could fly KE no problem, so it should do just fine on a plane that is 4-5 pounds lighter. Mine, however, will have an 8711 on the rudder, mounted in the tail as a push/pull.

Status: offline 		Ward, I have one 5955 on mine and it seems fine. The 2.5" arm is a better choice than the 3". If you measure the distance between the control horns on the rudder you'll find them right at 2.5" and with non cross over geometry you want the servo arm the same length.

I bought both arms today (3" and 2.5" just incase, glad I did now, thanks. I'll do the dry run with the 2.5" and see how it looks.

Did the maiden on mine today, 54 degree's , SSE wind at 8-9 MPH. On take off I Throttled up pretty fast, I thought the DA-85 was going to rip the Wings off the Plane. Two clicks of Rudder and it was hands off. KE was easy, near 0 coupling and CG was exactly how I like, 45 degree inverted and just a slight arc back to earth, I won't move it. Right thrust might have to be adjusted, but trimming will still need work. Plane took about 12 hours to build and I have zero complaints with the build. And the only hardware I changed was the wheels and I used pro-links, everything else was top shelf. I'm sold on Aero-Works and it appears their service is there to back up the product. It's a keeper!

Status: offline 		I just love mine!! This is probably the best aircraft I've ever flown..On my maiden I didn't have to trim anything!! You're right about the DA 85...It definately has plenty of power!!! Enjoy the Extra!!!
