Status: offline 		Range check your model thoroughly with the engine on and off to check. That EVO 25C pack is fairly heavy I assume, I wonder if that is why its coming in a little nose heavy? What gear are you using.

This may be one of my next planes so I am a little curious....

Evo 25c 1500ma = 4.3 oz or 124g
Gear used is spectrum DX 6 Eflight 480/1020, eflight 40 amp esc S 75 servs's

Note " I must have got the ARF with good glue joints in the motor box."

Status: offline 		Ya just what I thought, the EVO pack is about an ounce heavier then the 2100 TP Pro-Lite. But you have a higher C rating.......... Let us know how it turns out. Depending on what motor you are using, the 1500 should be plenty.

Status: offline 		I have had this plane since it came out. I run the 480 motor 40amp ESC and thunder power 2100mah batteries with a 10x6 prop. I have had no problems at all. Matter of fact I never really found the CG. Was in such a hurry to fly it pushed the battery all the way forward and off we went. ( NOT RECCOMMENDED )

Status: offline 		During the pre flight check discoverd a striped servo. It will be several days now before i can get to a LHS. Man this plane is putting up a good fight.

Status: offline 		Maiden flight went well, two clicks down and 2 left aileron. I used a 11/7 prop, flying speed was good, vertical was not unlimited but close. Flew the plane on suggested low rates. Best flying air plane I ever had. Nice and smooth. Easy plane to land square up with runway reduce power to 1/3 nice slow drop rate, a bit of up at the last second and 3point landing. Roll rate great, inverted just a touch of down Knife edge good pulls to the canopy just a bit. Snaps good, easy to maintain heading, spins are great. This airplane makes me look a LOT better than I am. Note: at my skill level, and high rates this airplane is a Monster have way more respect for you 3D guys.
If you can fly the Mini Pulse or MUS this plane is in your wheel house.

Status: offline 		I just flew this plane yesterday. A friend had just finished it. I was very impressed with it. He ran a 480 motor, 40 amp speed control and 1800 mah lipo packs. It was rock solid.

He'd modified the battery tray to allow the pack to slide back under the wing spar a bit.

This is the kind of plane I'm looking for. I need to start replacing some of my airplane is this is one direction I'd like to go.

I had the same problem as Antennaman. I didn’t receive the washer for the spinner and had to improvise. And while I was at the LHS improvising I picked up an extra carbon fiber rod for the stab. I purchased the plane over the internet. When I opened the box the covering was horrible. Had I seen it in the hobby store I would have put it back on the shelf. The crazy part is that it cleaned up really nice with the iron set well below 300 degrees. It’s almost like the guy didn’t finish the gob. Please don’t get me wrong. I love the E-flite products. The covering for my Mini FuntanaX is flawless even in the hot Texas sun. The kit was my first build and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This is just a bad apple in the bunch.

I’m having problem with the build. The plane is EXTREMELY nose heavy. I’m using the recommended electronics, no substitutions. The plane weighs in with a 2100 Li-Po at 29.5 oz. But in order to get the plane to balance at 4 ½ inches CG I literally have to put the battery in the ESC hatch. I’m suspicious that the fiberglass cowl is too thick and heavy. The Cowl is VERY tight on the fuselage. I’m having to push to the point of breaking something to get it even close to fitting. Can someone tell me how my spec compare to your build. The cowling weighs 0.75 oz. When installed to clear the spinner it’s exactly 2.5 inches from the leading edge of the wing – over 5/8 inch past the front edge of the fuselage. Please let me know what you guys come up with before I go to Horizon Hobby.

Status: offline 		Rfries_gha Your numbers mach mine except I am heavier 30.5 had to put 3/4 oz. of lead in the tail with a larger” heavier” tail wheel on. Got 6 more flights in to day. Will install the side force generators on see how that works.

5 more flights to day. Like the side force generators in no wind. They look to be a hand full in cross wind landings? Not happy with the power of my 480/1020, have tried several props. 11/,7 11/,8 12/6. 11/8 for me is the best in this bunch. Looking for more power thinking of a Rimefire 35-30 1450Kv. 330 watts 30 amps 71g or 2.5onz. Little more power and may be able to remove some tail weight. win win

Status: offline 		I used the e-flight 10 motor in my Showtime and it was so nose heavy I had to place the battery BEHIND the wing tube. I use the hatch provided for the wing assembly to access the battery. It works fine. John

Status: offline 		I posted earlier that my Mini Showtime is VERY nose heavy. I know the build is correct and per the manufactures specifications, so I can’t explain why the weight is off. Adding weight to the tail to solve the problem is the last option that I would consider – weight is bad. To move the weight back as far as possible I constructed a shelf that slides in behind the cockpit. I mounted the ESC and receiver to the shelf with dentil floss (more on why floss later). I reinforced the holes with CA. I will connect all the electronics and slide it into place. A little dab of CA each side will keep it in place. It should be sturdy enough to holdup to a ‘near fatal’ accident without failure. I will adhere the canopy with double sided tape. It holds great but is still removable should I need to replace one of the electronics. Before final installation I will remove as much balsa as possible for airflow.

Now the reason for the dentil floss… The idea for the shelf is pretty permanent; that is once everything is installed I can’t remove it without breaking it apart. Hopefully I can slide a hobby knife in to cut the floss and retrieve the electronics (easier than plastic tie down straps) The problem will be in reconstructing the assembly. I will cross that bridge when it arises.

So before I seal everything for good… Does anyone see anything that I’ve overlooked?

Status: offline 		I'm kinda new at this electric game but is not the ESC supposed to be in a place where it has lots of airflow over it ? Has not this shelf you created added almost as much weight as an oz. or 2 in the tail ?

I really like this Mini Showtime but all this talk about being nose heavy and reconstructing in order to solve it has me backing off
