Mine has been set up exactly as the instructions have asked and it flies PERFECT!!!!!!!!!


eflite 40 amp esc
1700 lipo
eflite servos and powerplant (480 -1020Kv)
JR 7202 radio

Flies better than what everyone has been saying. VERY responsive on high rates!!!!!! And lands like a feather.
I did some hard snap rolls tonight and WOW.............SHE'S ROCK SOLID!!!!

Thank you e-flite for this awesome bird. You will be hard pressed to match this combination of style and performance with any other model in the future!!!!!!!

I hope you at e-flite are reading this because you deserve all the praise I am giving you!!!!!!

Status: offline 		Hi V8mini, i have found that e-flite planes have made great airframes for glow conversions as i have converted a mini edge to a thunder tiger 15, hovers at just over 3/4 throttle. and i have also put in a saito 30 in a mini showtime which i have another thread (i think in the 3d forum?) the mini showtime is still yet to fly, trying to work out a radio glitch atm.. perhaps 2.4ghz will be my answer :P. Also by the reccommended CG i have added 50gm of weight to the tail, and the battery back at the back of the canopy, from a very rough weight from kitchen scales it worked out to be roughly right on (1300 grams / 45.87oz), with a firewall doubler added on and the heavy alluminium spinner. so i feel with this conversion anyhow, it is going to be a little lacking in power to weight ratio with the heavy weight, i was only planning on sport flying this airframe anyhow, compared to the mini edge with a half decent power to weight ratio this plane might no suit so much... a os 25fx would have been the better choice...

Status: offline 		Has anyone experienced problems when attaching the cowl that it makes it difficult to get the access plate on top of the fuselage off? Also, I am having a difficult time getting the prop / spinner to mount all the way on the shaft of the motor. Does the cowl need to be cut? Any advice is appreciated.

Status: offline 		I had to trim my cowl quite a bit. Once I had the cowl in the right spot I had to cut off about 1/2" off the upper side aft edge. I also had to open up the hole in the center a lot to properly mount the motor and get some ventilation air on it. Those type of cowls usually require a bit of modification to get everything to fit right. I used a dremel to do all the trimming.

Status: offline 		Watched my neighbor fly his mini showtime and he is a very experienced flyer with yrs. under his belt. He had alot of flutter and was landing it very smooth landing when it touched down it pulled the landing gear off. Wheel pants of course went thru wings. Repaired it and was off a couple days later same thing very soft smooth landing and again the gear broke. It broke outside of the fix from before. He also had the 90 size went with him to fly maiden and it was very tricky not a good looking flight at all. He said he just did not like the way it flew. Next flight his 2nd. he flew it around put it in a hover and it would fall out very quickly and then was hard to recover from it. He landed and we just looked at it for a minute or so while it idled on the ground he has a 22cc gas engine. He took back off and banked and it would not come out of the bank and dove into the ground. We were dumbfounded. He used reccommended servos and hardware and two of them gave up the left ail. and the left rudd both stripped. He had not done anything that to me would have put much stress on them but they broke. He did not like the way the plane flew at all from the first few sec. He stopped on the way home and bought a 100 size Funtana. I have watched two of these only ones I have seen and they both are toothpicks now. The first just blew apart in midair i mean the wings literally just blew off of it after some 3D type stuff. I fly a Frenzy and have put it thru much more than what he did. To me the Showtimes are not worth getting and piles of junk. Glad some of you are getting along with them fine. I almost bought one and am just so glad they did first lol.

Status: offline 		Showtime is a great airplane to fly and hover however it seems as if it is a little weak in the gear area, I had the same problem with the Landing Gear. It should be double enforced because it seems as if any pressure on the gear that forces it aft will cause it to rip away from the fuselage as well as tear some of the monocote from the belly of the plane.

Status: offline 		hey guys whats up i am new in this thread i just got the mini showtime i like the way this plane looks guys i wanted to know if i can use my E-FLITE 60amp ESC with my 480 motor i also have a 3300 mah 3 cell will that work or do i have to get a 40amp esc i also have a 1320mah 3cell my main concern is the esc if it can be used your help will be apreciated

Your neighbor has troubles and probably does not have the skills you think he does (impression from your post).Also the X100 is one of the biggest sellers with one of the biggest pilot satiscaction rates.The Showtime 90 or mini is not junk,it takes a bit more finesse and skill and set up experience to fly one well.

The ESC should work,but that battery is a brick,stick with a 2200.
Wingloading and airframe stress with the 3300 will be obvious.
The landing gear will also strain from weight and force.

Status: online 		I had good results with an EVO 1800 and the 480,I think the 1320 will be working too hard to keep up with demands and bursts.
Remember to vary your throttle and not stay wide open too long.The 60 amp may not give any shut down protection if you draw too much from the battery.
The ESC should be fine there as long as it gets cooling.I doubt it will get very warm anyway,but if you can get it a bit further off the battery it would not hurt,maybe down lower?

Status: offline 		Nitro Wing my neighbor is pretty experienced and had i not been there to see with my own eyes, might agree he had problems of somekind. But i was there and know he is not the king of flying or anything but do know that he flys well enough to teach alot of us things that we wished we knew. I am catching up to him though, but i fly almost daily trying. Don't know how you read his skills were not up to par to fly this showtime. Great looking plane but in my opinion (only) it is a brick. It was setup properly I assisted in that part even. Not that i am anywhere near the right person to setup a plane like this and say it is completley good. Just know what i saw and that was he took off put it into a very slight banked turn with plenty speed and it did and would not come out of it. Servos had stripped while on his first 2min. flight. Reccommended servos just did not have enough torc. Besides that the ones I myself have seen did not fly well at all, and when asked to do 3D stuff came apart. I saw this I did not do it or anything but also know my i guess you could say inferior type plane do what little they did and alot more and never a problem. I just myself think this plane is not a very good flying plane. I am sure there are many many people that like the way they fly and just have a ball with them and man that is what it is all about. For myself personall i would not waste my time with it. Maybe if it were free with everything you need for one I would build it but that is about the only way. For those that love this plane more power to them and hope they fly them till they wear the wheels out. I understand that alot like them just not myself. They are not an easy plane to fly as i have seen anyway.
