haha, thanks, just so you know, i wasn't using a 48t spur gear in that video, that video is of my old setup, 13/49 and a 8ight clutch, but 12/48 with a fioroni clutch is still better, that's what i have now and i love it even more!

ps. one thing that helps clutches last longer + grip better is a vented clutch bell, they keep clutches cooler

Yeah, right now I have a non-vented 12T stock Muggy bell on - and for whatever reason the LRP barely meshes up with the spur.. In fact it doesn't.. I ran two tanks through it on Monday, even though I prob shouldn't have - the CB only meshes with about 2/3 of the SG... Anyway, I may end up trying that 48T SG with a 12T bell if I ever get around to a rebuild.. I've got a few problems at the mo though, with steering slop and frying clutch bearings.. I bought this part from a dude which supposedly will limit chassis flex.. But it's awfully heavy - and I don't have the right tools to drill counter-sunk holes in the chassis, etc...:

Here's what my Mug was running like with the LRP and 12T bell.. Interesting how obviously totally different they run with the different gearing.. You can really notice the low end grunt with your setup.. I like it... Would be a neat race...

refering to the donuts? lol

does your clutch bell not mesh right as in the engine is too far to the right? or as in the engine is too far back?

for me, using the 427, the 8ight clutch was too far forward and i could barely get every part of the spur gear touching the pinion, i did manage to pull it off though, and now with the fioroni clutch and the 427 and with a regular muggy vented clutchbell, the clutch was too far back and it took 4 spacers to get it to mesh properly.

your muggy looks really nice in that video, looks like it's got alot of grunt. i like your body and wheels + tires. it seems to have lots of torque, mine is either tuned wrong or the sportwerks 2053 pipe is a top end pipe because it can't do wheelies from a stand still, but once it gets up to almost top speed it starts to pull wheelies randomly, it could be just bumps in my yard but it's pretty cool.

if you do go for a 48T SG, the 8ight one is the only one that i know of that definitely fits in the muggy.

With the standard Muggy clutch, or even the one I had before, with the LRP, it sits too far back.. - i.e., the CB doesn't reach forward enough - just enough to mesh 2/3 or so with the SG...

oh, do you have any extra room on the crankshaft? like this?:

if you do, you could add shims between the engine and the flywheel, ofna has a good shim kit and it's the one i used, it's also got some stuff that you could end up needing later on: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/5428

Edit: the shim kit also comes with a crankshaft extension that lets you add shims between the engine and the flywheel even if you don't have extra room on the crankshaft.

Hey - thanks for reminding me!! I couldn't find the extension thing before, but I remember now I have a second Ofna shim kit laying around.. The crankshaft on the LRP is short I guess..
