I think both the RC8 and Losi 8ight Suck.

My suggestion:

Buy a new Grasshopper

Nah... honestly... can't see how many can have a true opinion as of yet. This would be a question better asked spring 2008. We still need to experience the car.

On the flip side...

Most all 1/8 scale buggies are built very well and unless your an absolute professional driver....it's hard to notice much difference. I run with a few guys and we all have different cars. I have a CEN Matrix and whoop them a LOT. On top of that the Matrix is built very nicely. I haven't broken one origional part yet. They on the other hand have dropped a pretty dime in parts.

Other drivers:

Losi 8ight
Kyosho Mp777 Sp2
GS Storm CL-1
Losi 8ight
Losi 8ight
Hyper 8 Pro Edition

That may be, but it's time that's the true judge. Durability, endurance, longevity are all other factors when considering the purchase of any RC....or anything else for that matter.

So, in light of your experince factor around the AE RC8, IMO it has not been around long enough yet to give a true judgement and I would continue to suggest bringing this question up spring 2008. Other things such as part availibility must be taken into consideration as well.

Again, just my opinion. I'm sure we could be a couple of lawyers going back and forth contridicting eachother on the subject.

engine:
from experience, i really like LRPs. im looking at the .21 lrp BUT it has a 3 needle carb which i don't want. is there another carb i could put on or do you guys suggest a different engine?
if there is a reasonably priced .21 that is EASY to tune and is powerful, please let me know.

Motors take practice to tune. Once you've fiddled with it for awhile and know what to watch and listen for, tuning becomes pretty easy. Any of the well-known names make good motors. The O.S. VG is a good motor for about $150. The Rex BF is a good motor for fairly cheap (from what I've heard). Haven't talked with anyone running an LRP, so I don't know but LRP is a reputable company when it comes to their other products, so I would expect the same from their nitro motors.

Yes really, the 8ight is a pain in the butt to do the simplest jobs on.

drake? riiiiiight he won the nats after mayfields electronics failed while drake was a lap down? good point...

it doesent matter how ya win ..it only matters if you win.....the fact that mayfields car broke is irellivent......nitro racing is 40 percent preperation 30 percent skill and 30 percent luck....you cant win it if you dont finish it.....drake won cuz he is a more prepared racer and had the skill to be close enough to take the lead when the lucky opprotunity showed itself......

Yes!!!!!

I have been very loyal to Novarossi for several years, but I recently decided to try a Ninja, and I love it!

Don't get me wrong, you can't go wrong with a Novarossi either, but the Ninja IMO is a great engine. but now you're talking about a 300 price range.

If you want to spend less but still want performance look into the Werks B3 or the GO Tech engines
