Hi guys,
I have a Dualist 2/60 that I have had for a couple of years now and have decided that I am not going to build it. I really don't remember what I paid for it, but I do remember that there were only a few of them kitted. the kit has a number on it as to what number it is. I would have to go down and open it up to find the exact number that it is.
If any of you fellas are interested in it please respond to the post or if you have any questions about it post up and I will try to answer your Querry.
Thanks
Rich Paterra

Rich,
You got it at the end of 2004 and paid around 100$ for it from NE-Aero ...
You bought one of the fifty kits that were done then...

The kit is not currently avail...

If there is enough interest NE-AERO will cut out a few more..

NE-AERO was doing it as an ARF but that has been shevled for a while..

Don't hold me to it but I believe Mr. Mussellman put that up for sale
fall of '05 ...

Bo,
It is a copyrighted product so no one else can legally cut it..

If you contact NE-AERO.COM you can inquire if they can cut you one..

Orrrrrr,, you could just get the one from rpat (Rich)

As a sort of update, NE-Aero is still listing the Super Duelist (their spelling) on their web site, but not selling it.

Rich...I got one of the first COX airframes and it left a lot to be desired as far as developement and engineering. But, once I got the bugs worked out...it's a really nice plane.

Here are some pics....

Here's the response I received to my inquiry, sent this afternoon.

quote:

Pat,

Thanks for your interest in the Super Duelist. As we release more information on this airplane, I’ll ensure you get on the distribution list. We have just had a manufacturing prototype made and will begin working with it shortly. When that happens, I’ll send around and post some additional pictures.

Sincerely,

John

So, things are looking good for a new kit of the 2/60 or Super Duelist. Perhaps some of you would like to have your names added to NE-Aero's email list as potential kit buyers.

Hi all,

I thought I'd post a picture of the Super Duelist prototype with more detail on my web site.

On the picture of the wing bottom, you'll notice the ailerons are the outboard panel and the inboard panel are a set of split-flaps.

John:

I noticed the ARF on your website and was disappointed to see it's not available yet.

I would've bought one on the spot!

I'll bet you get a rush of orders when it comes out.

All us old guys familiar with your Twin Airs and the Duellist know they are sweet flyers.

Hi John,

I´m Carlos from Spain, I bought from you a twin air last year. Awesome plane, super forgiving, lands perfect and flys on one engine!
I´m interested in your Super Duellist. When the plane is ready, is possible for you to send me one of them to Spain?
It would be a shock in my club!!!

Regards,
Carlos

Northeast Aero,
How did you compensate for the higher thrust line?

CrateCruncher,

The full answer can get drawn out and lengthy, but let me try and get you an answer.

To be absolutely nuetral, the thrust line should go through the CG point of the airplane. Note that the CG point is the single point that the model would rotate around in 3-dimensions. On a flat wing (no dihedral) the gear will pull the CG point below the wing. The Super Duelist has dihedral built into the wings and a tall fusleage and fin which pulls the CG point up. When the gear is down the CG point is well below the wing. When the gear is up the CG point should be pretty close to the new thrust line of the nacelles but still slightly below. The CG point is aligned with the central axis of the fuselage. The effect is an axial roll on the central axis line through the fuselage.

Now here is where this become academic: Where you locate and the weight of your radio gear, the servos, the batteries, air-cylinders for the retracts etc, all have an effect on the CG point of the airplane which moves it. Sometimes it moves it up and sometimes down but the thrust line stays the same. The model will just fly with a slightly different set of characteristics. Depending on how minor or major the differences are will determine if you notice it or not. The thrust line is just one attribute of many.

I know that this arrangement works very well on the Twin-Air airplanes.

I hope this answers your quesiton
