If you are in the AFR/DR menu and you are at the screen where you select and assign switches to operate your rates, you come upon an option to select "single or logic". If you select "logic", you get another section below full of more selections regarding "single, logic, AND, OR, EX-OR".

I don't have a clue what ANY of this is about and of course there is not a single word about it in the wonderful manual.

Can someone explain to me clearly what all this stuff about logic is? I tried messing around with it to see what it does but just got WAY more confused. Maybe someone could give me a real life scenario about how it is used and what it means.

This "logic" stuff my also show up in other areas of the radio too, I'm not sure yet. I'm still learning the system.

Thanks,
Charles

With the "Logic" function, you can set a dual-rate or condition to be active only if a certain event happens:

You can "OR" something...the setting takes effect if switch "X" is in one position OR switch "Y" is in a given position, or both are in the given position.

You can "AND" them...so the setting works only if switch "X" AND switch "Y" are in specific positions.

You can "EX-OR" them...so the setting works only if switch "X" is in a given position, or Switch "Y" is in a given position, but not both in the given position.

So you could have a surface go to a low rate when you flip a switch AND have the throttle below a certain point (or above a certain point). You're telling the system that you need to have two switches/controls a certain way before the rate (condition, action) happens.
