Hey fellas,
Just recently restarted work on a Royal Fw190 I bought in 92' and nearly completed. Funny how easy it is to get
sidetracked with kids, work, etc. Anyways, I was somewhat taken aback that Royal Products no longer produces
these kits, and from what I can gather many of these kit's have become nearly extinct? Fairly robust design with
an aluminum spun cowling was principle in purchasing this product. This one has a Super Tigre 90 motor, and I
installed a removable canopy as well. My question is this, I still have the plans for it but I was wondering if there
might be some product out there, as i would like to build up a second wing assembly with increased wing loading.

I'm thinking about increasing the trailing edge by 1"-1.5" to compensate for the additional power loading of the 90
Initially, the craft was rated for a 60 or 75 but, I'm not so much concerned with that as I am interested in procuring
additional spars and structural materials, and possibly another one of the aluminum cowls for future damage control.

I was searching the web when I came across this CORSAIR! Fantastic Beast! Looking real good. Any suggestions
on the topic would be greatly welcomed, as I just broke it out--and fell in love all over again! It's been YEARS!

Thanks,
scott

HI GENTS,LOADS OF SANDING GOING ON HERE!!!IT`S TAKING ME AGES.LOOKING GOOD THOUGH. LOOKS LIKE I`VE BEEN LET DOWN WITH THE KING 100. WILL HAVE TO LOOK AROUND FOR A SUITABLE DONKEY.GETTING ONE AT AGOOD PRICE IS ALSO A PROBLEM. WHATS THE BEST WAY TO RUN 2 6V RX BATTERIES IN MY CORSAIR???? WOW ITS A BIG BIRD THAT P47 OF YOURS DAVE. ANY LUCK WITH A CANOPY YET???? REGARDS OZ

Hi OZYRAY,

Sounds like you have been busy with all the sanding, i enjoyed sanding the stringers around the top of the fuz and over the gull wing, nice to see it come 'to life', with you doing yours its making me itchy to get back onto mine!!
The thunderbolt i posted a photo of has a King 100cc in it, ive been plagued with problems with it since i fitted it with bad running, i finally flew it, its got bucket loads of grunt, it pulled my 40lb bolt about until it went sick, but im going to take it out and fit a 3W80 flat twin, im going to put the King 100 on EBAY!
Best way to run 2x 6v nicads together is through a S.M. Services battery backer, if one of the nicads goes down it removes it from the instalation rather than draining the remaining one!!
I still have not heard from dave at Stapleton Engineering yet, he did say around 4 weeks, its only just that now from his email saying he has sourced the mould again, i will let you know as soon as i do.

Keep up the good work,

Di n Dave....

Hi OZYRAY,

Sanding is very theraputic! i enjoyed sanding the planking down on the gull wing section and the top section behind the canopy, nice to see it come to shape
Im not gonig to use the Royal method of wing fixing, but it looks stong enough and if 'blended in' should look ok with just the bolt heads exposed, they will also be painted the same as the colur scheme, im using the same method as the Yellow aircraft use, a alluminium bar stock sliding into another alluminium section, all screws for retaining wingtip are accessable through the retract wheel well, quite a bit more hastle!!

Try to get your camera sorted or i will have to resort to carrying on with my one!!!!

Keep up the good work!!

Di n Dave....
