Hello all,
I finished my FF taco almost 1 year ago, i finally flew it with a os 32sx, wow. I've been so busy with work,etc...so much power with this motor, almost scarry.I can hover with less than 1/3rd throttle and the climb out is unbelievable. Good times Paul, Thanks. massive power.

Just finished building and covering mine. I'm now installing the motor, radio gear, linkages, etc. OS 25FX for now-maybe a Saito later if funds permit. Hitec 85's except for the throttle which is a HS-55. I have a couple of questions. What are you guys using for batteries-I want to keep it as light as possible? Also, what is a good starting point for the CG?

Thanks

Vince

I use 6V AAA 800mAh and the're probably the best for those small planes, withouth gettin' into Lipo's.

I'm sure everyone knows this already, but I just wanted to thank Swany publicly for the great service. I ordered a Fat Free Taco kit from him on the 21st, really not expecting to receive it until after CHRISTMAS, but it showed up at the house CHRISTMAS eve! By the way, I ordered some stuff from Tower on the 22nd and it's not here yet!

Thanks again Paul for the great service! Now all I have to do is make time to build it!

Rich

Quick question.

Has anyone put filets on the wing's of the FF Taco. I think it would look great with those even if they didn't add much to the performance. My Funtana S 90's wings inspired me to think of the Taco. I have seen the Katana P from OMP, but that is a larger plane and I've never seen those on a .25 size plane like this. They may help with harriers and elevators some.

I don't think I will change the aileron length, but make small filets for the plane. I'll post pictures afterwards.

I have completed the .25 size wing filets for the FF TACO. The filet's construction is a 2 piece design that is very easy to make. I really like the overall look of the filets and will have to report if any noticable difference is observed once flown.

Oh, one immediate difference noticed already is that the tail does not wobble. The tail and backbone sections are significantly stiffer now with very little to no wobbling noticed. That alone should help some. I thought the fiberglass rod was good and it is, but it is even stiffer now.

If the weather holds up, I will fly tomorrow and reports the results if anyone is interested.
