The heat shrink is shrinking even more and the cells are showing. The solder on the balancing cables are softening. This is a 3s1p pack that goes in my FLM rustler. It has enough punch to pop wheelies all the way till the pack dumps. I started noticing this last sunday at the dragrace. I'm thinking I'm pulling more that the rated amp discharge rate of the batteries with the Mamba Max setup with the heavy rustler. The 3s2p setup should reduce my heating problems, correct? Or should go for a different motor?

Hello Snell,

If you are heating the cells enough to cause things to start to melt then you are definitely using them at or beyond their 30C rating. Installing a 3S2P pack would most certainly correct this solution, not to mention you would most likely see even more power since the battery may be limiting your motor.

It is pretty surprising that a Mamba Max in a 10th scale is drawing so much power, what is your setup?

Power . Safety . Life

Brian

Hey Brian,

The vehicle comes close to 7LBS (aluminium+body). Motor choices are between a feigao 4436Kv, 5700Kv and 7800Kv. Rollout ratio is always close too 1. These cells are just amazing.

Hey,

That's a nice rig!!! I think that a 3S2P would certainly be a good upgrade. There is plenty of space on the chassis, and you will see better performance and runtime.
