If you are sitting in the pilot seat looking forward, the center hole, engine mount holes and cross-hairs (if they're on there) should be to the LEFT. The engine will mount to the box, pointed slightly to the RIGHT, so you need it mounted slightly to the LEFT of center in order to keep the spinner somewhat centered on the cowl.

That is the first I have ever heard of from any arf. Do you have pics? If it is offset as you say, it is wrong and the holes do need to be redrilled. No biggie, just find center, measure the current offset to the left and duplicate it to the right. Also make sure the height is correct. If not, correct it.

Yep... it looks backwards to me. Never seen that before. I'd send AW the picture and see if they can shoot you a new fuse, or you could just re-drill, depending on how much work you've done on the fuse already.

Dude, I'd just redrill it. You will in no way compromise the structure as a result, and you won't have to wait another 3-5 days for the new fuse and hope it gets to you undamaged! You know how those UPS goons handle packages...A redrill will cost you 45 minutes and a little extra wear on your drill bit and pencil.

Having a spare fuselage is what is actually interesting here...

If I can use the supplied template and drill 4 holes, everybody can.

LOL! I have changed a bit over the past year or so, especially after accepting the fact that there are no absolutes when it comes to chinese ARFs. Everyone remembers the EF 50cc twisted fuse situation, right? I fixed that instead of sending it in. I also have another ARF that had structural failure, causing damage to the fuse. I offered to fix the fuse if they would just expedite the other replacement parts. They replaced the whole kit, anyway, but I still repaired the fuse since the repair would be quicker than reinstalling all my equipment.
Don't get me wrong, the guy has every right to want a new fuse, but redrilling it would be easier/quicker/less hassle.
I am thinking that this should cue Aeroworks to understand that the only way to make sure it doesn't happen again is to have the engineers key the firewall and engine box asymmetrical so that it will only fit one way...

3djoy i resent the fact of you are accusing me of just wanting another fuse! where were you when i asked for help 4 day`s ago? if you read the thread you would see that i asked for reassurance to the correct position of the thrust line, before i RE DILLED NEW HOLES, i didn't mention a new fuse till somebody said it.after all ,should it be right for the money?
and i already re drilled new holes and mounted the engine BEFORE i even called aeroworks to let them know ,and i didn`t ask for a fuse!

I don't think he was accusing you. I think he meant that Aeroworks might not even have a spare fuse to send to you. I am also sure they would give you a shipping label to return your fuse, too, if they did have spares. I am glad you simply drilled new holes. You're gonna love this plane!

I guess I was having a bad day telling that...
I'm not on RCU every day and even less in the AW forum, sorry for not catching your thread when it was time.

Bodywers is right, they should only key the firewall for one way install.
Bodywerks is also right in that you will love this plane! I do love mine and even though a 40% is in the way, I still plan to fly it next year!
