If you are truly interested in weight reduction then us a 350 mah NIMH battery. However once you drop it into the fuselage you may have difficulty finding it again.

What Ed Smith said. Be sure to charge the thing between races just to be safe. 350 is not a bunch to play with, but works very well, cute little puppys. EnJOY

hey john,
have you considered going lithium yet. It is much more effiecient and deffiently lighter and the power box 5 amp reg weighs only 8.5 grams!

My set up, Power Box 5 Amp reg and a tanic 7.4V 520 mA lipo all this is only 38.5 grams and you are flying all day without having to put it on the quick charger. Also if you are pyloning you can drop it down to 350 mA.

Any way here is where you can find it

Battery: http://www.rclithiumpower.com/

Reg: http://shop.desertaircraft.com.au/catalogue/c15/c47/p334

Good Luck

Yes. The wing without the servo weighs 18 ounces.

hey cocmotor, the rudervators are run by hitec hs 225 (nylon gear version), hs 81 mg on throtle and a large overkill on the ailerons, hs 625. The next viper i get if i build another one i would put another 225 on the ailerons shaving of 23 whole grams!! .

Running a lipo setup enables you to run these servos with more athroity than a standard 4cell nimh pack because of the slightly higher voltage going to the reciever from the reg.

if you want to know more ask
