Well just to recap my time here on RCU---Got a lot of help from some of the members, learned a lot about the workings of the HL tanks. They still amaze me after all these months(about 7 months i think.),they are cheap, very reliable" at least most of mine have been",and they look good right out of the box.In the past 7 months or more I have bought (14 tanks and misc other military vehicles,Plus 2 tanks and a humvee for my sister as presents).A few more than I had originally planed on,but from the start I wanted a fairly good sized collection. As one may guess,I do like them.Posted about 3 different builds over the past months, and will continue on with about four other projects waiting to be done.Should keep me busy for a while. My favorite two being the 1/12 panzer and the Humvee.Didn't generate much interest from other's but made me very happy.A word here for any new guy that may happen onto this thread. These HL tanks can not be beat for what you pay for them.I may not be totally correct here but I think there are basic-lly 5 main models Of the HL brand and Several color combo's of the same tank. The good news is you can buy all 5 of them for about $385.00 dollars,if you watch where you buy them and buy here in the U.S. A word for the Tamiya guys.I'm not going to "Knock Tamiya tanks here on the way out the door"other than my own personel opinion. I have "never seen one,let alone own one",I will just have to take your word for the quaility and that they are worth the price that people pay for them.As for me there is no 1/16 scale plastic tank that is worth the price of even the cheapest one they make. Not to mention that there is a lot of additional cost to even be able to operate it after you put it togeather. But one thing I have concluded after these months here on the forum, there are a lot more HL owners that there is Tamiya. Some of the guys have both, and seem to like them all. Don't want to write a novel here and would like to depart without making enemy's.Over-all have had some fun, with a few exceptions. But would also like to pass on a word of caution to a "few" who complain about not liking some of the posts and would like to change the forum to more of their individual liking."be carefull what you wish for,it might come true".I have commented on here before that this is probbly the best forum I have yet to see,and I stand by what I said.A few guys could very easily kill it.I don't know how much faster or bigger the tank hobby will grow. But several things I have observered is from what I see here it is very limited, seeing it is open to people from around the world.A big day on the forum, there might be 25-30 members loged on at one time. Most of us(80%) or more (I think that is a conservitive number) have been on here for far less than a year.I have come to reccognize a lot of the regular guys, with some new names poping up here and there. My guess is that 6 months from now when one comes back to the tank forum that very few of the guys on here now will still be here.Hobbys come and hobbys go,this is a fact. The new guys will keep this forum going.Don't think many of the regular's now are going to keep buying more tanks to continue there so called builds. There is a limit as to how many are out there to work on,or paint. I hope I have passed on some usefull information to some of the new guys,Tried to help a few save a buck or two.Might have taken a little flack here and there in the process but I'm not that thined skined.Several may be happy to see me go,but don't get to thrilled because I'm still going to be dropping back in to check things out on occasion.Be watching for any new model that HL may come out with. Thanks to those who have been helpfull, and keep buying and building------------BIGMIG
