I got my Falcon 40 for $85. With shipping and an extra set of blades it was about $115. I got it from http://www.nitroplanes.com/20newdefa40r.html
I'm a lousy pilot, but the heli works fine. It is a single rotor, fixed pitch, with tail rotor.

I agree with soloboss, a Fixed Pitch (fp) is the way to go if you just gotta have a tail rotor. here's another one to consider.

http://www.hobby-lobby.com/honeybee3.htm

A FP is a good choice for a beginner because they are very strong and dont shatter in a crash (unless it's a hard crash). They stand up really good to beginner oop's. IMO, much easier to learn on then a Collective Pitch heli or CP. Any CP you might get in your price range is going to be small and twitchy and hard to control as a beginner.

fixed pitch heli's blades spin slower and are more durable to crashing. Basically the blades have a fixed amount of lift in them and they can't change lift, or in other words pitch. The collective pitch or CP models have quite a bit more parts and higher head speed. The FP's are more slushy to fly and hard to fly in winds and can't fly in winds above about 10mph or so. CP's are much more responsive and fly alot better in wind because the shafts feather, but they also have alot more parts and have more damage usually when they crash, ect. Some people say CP's are harder to fly, and some say FP's, so who knows which is really harder to fly, but the over all just of it is the FP's are more durable because they have less parts and a lower head speed. Hopefully that helps out =)

oh and I would like to build it myself but I want to buy everything I need in the same pakage

I don't if it like a truck like if the buy a kit you have to build it and buy the radoi and the servos I don't want that

I want to buy a full kit whit servos and everything I need to fly but be able to build it myself if it's possible if not I will simply take it apart and rebuild it

Another Heli to consider is the Blade CX2. It is a multi-rotor Heli and is very easy to learn on. Of course, I must admit my bias as I own 2 of them

I do have one for sale. check it out here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemID=324755

Pix of both my Helis attached. I am selling the blue one.

xkev,
the helis we mentioned come pre built with everything you need to fly, you dont have to put anything together but you might need to do a little set up, but nothing to build, until you crash. I am not sure what the cheapest kit would cost but I'm pretty sure if you buy a kit, you'll need to buy the radio and servo's and other electronics separately.

mrassm, just FYI, you can fly a FP in stronger winds, it's extremely difficult but it can be done, I've seen video of a guy flying in 15+ mph winds. But as a rule, you dont want to fly a FP in more then maybe 5mph.

Hi XKEV...if you are new to Helis and this will be your first, why do you want one
with a tail motor?.it will be hard to fly for a novice....the Blade CX2 discussed here
is an excellant beginner Heli..most people start with a co-ax Heli and then move to
FP or CCP...cheers, John H.

Walkera #4. Same heli as Falcon 40, 69.99!, comes with an extra set of blades and the sim cable, with downloadable software. Plus i'm still running 2for1 on plastic #4 parts.

yup, that's right.

If you want to build one and set it up check out the trex 450cde spectrum package on www.helihobby.com It runs about $500 bucks. Arrow has found that it is best to talk to Nikki because she gets things done =)

As far as starting with an Fp or a CP, that's totally up to you. See like my bud blade_killer he started out with the cp or the cp pro (I can't remember which), and he hated it and spent alot of money and frustration and was much more satisfied with the honeybee MK3. I started out with the cp pro and have only spent about $30 bucks or so in repairs and I've been flying for several months. It's all about where you fit rather than there just being one answer =)

blade_killer, that's cool, I've never seen such a vid, the best vid I have seen as far as the FP in wind is here on RCU, and the wind was probably something like 10 to 12mph and the FP was at full forward and was still getting blown back by the wind. Maybe he didn't have his setup as good as it could be =)

Check out this link for the video (looks to me like he doesn't arm the gyro the right way though) - this video is good at showing the crash and fly durability though

xkev,

for a first heli, I would recommend the CX2. It's a coaxial heli (2 main blades counter rotating) very stable and a great first heli to learn stick inputs and direction. Parts are readily available and pretty inexpensive. It comes ready to fly at $189.
