Hi Bax! I've mounted my new Fuji43 in a GP Cap, it has less than 30 minutes of flying. I'm using 32:1 lawnboy. It idles GREAT but when I go mid to full power it runs rough, sounds like it's missing, spitting and poping. If I lean the high end it just quits, I've checked the plug and it was pretty wet with lots of oil(starting to foul). I've reset the needles to factory specs of 1 3/4 open for low and 3/4 open for high and started over with same results? I have notice fuel spraying out the carb when it's running? Thanks!

A lot of times, we've found the needles need to be richened a bit from the "factory" settings. Try that and see what happens. If you still get the rough running, then the carb may need some work.

Okay, took the carb apart and got to the metal screen and sure enough it had dirt in it , reset the high and low needles. I've had two great flights with it. Thanks!

Elvir, sorry for the late replay........ I was gone for the weekend and just catching up. I did have the poping sound and the engine would not come up to full speed. I also checked the gap on the plug and it was at the wide end of the specs (.24), closed it to .20. I then turn the needles back to factory specs. The engine was fairly new and I'm sure it picked up dirt when I was running it on the ground in my yard. This is my third Fuji and my club now has three other members besides myself with Fuji's...................I WAS FIRST!

Not a problem, today I wanted to put back an apc 20x8 in stead of the 20x10, I had found the 20x10 is too much for it. So when i was there I decided to take the carb apart and the **** load of crap i found in the carb screen i could not believe. i also find that i am getting the out side of the carb wet with fuel and the cylinder head also with well mostly oil since the gas evaporated from the heat , did you find anything like this?

ricomari, We're glad to hear you got your difficulty solved. It's amazing how much dirt and crud can accumulate in the main fuel can and model's fuel tank. That's what the carb screen's intended to weed out. If it's too full, then the engine winds up with fuel blockage.

Elvir, Many times, you'll find fuel gets 'spit' out of the carburetor at low to mid throttle settings. Sometimes adding a longer intake stack can help this. Great Planes makes one that fits a variety of engines:

GPMG2100 VELOCITY STACK 25-41 US$14.99

These parts can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells Great Planes kits and accessories.

i get the fuel on the outside of the plane threw the hole in the cowl, it runs down the outside of the cowl , but also on the head there is oil like it is leaking from the insulator.
