Getting ready to fly mine with the recommended power setup.

Two questions:

1. What control throws are the gurus using for this plane (degrees,mm,inches)?

2. Any feedback on how many milliamps I'll burn in 7 to 7-1/2 minutes of practice?

Generally fly the Masters sequence in about 7 minutes with the full sized airframes.

Fly my Fliton Prodigy (~60% size and mass of Vanquish) with a larger motor than called for (AXI 2808-24) for 9-10 minutes and put back 500-600 ma.

Would like to try to get away with 2100-2200 milliamp 4s packs to keep the weight down.

Thanks in advance.

I test flew mine this past weekend. Don't get the 2200ma packs. Go for the Flightpower 2500's. On a 12X6 I appear to be safe for about 6ish minutes( 80%). I already compromised one of my 2200's. Who knows how much life I'll get out of it now.<g> I only have 4 flights on each of my packs so far. I will probably pick up at least one 2500 pack. The Prolite 2650 4S2P may be a viable option. as well. You can do a Masters routine in about 6ish plus minutes. I started with my pattern throws and wound up decreasing my low aileron rate even more. Start with your typical pattern setup and go from there if that is what your objective is. With the package deal from Atlanta Hobbies, I had to add 3/4 ozs of tail weight. I may take a 1/4 oz off. Need to fly it some more. My plane is at 40 ozs. without battery. Using two metal gear and two Karbonite gear Hitec HS 65's and a 7 ch. Spektrum 7 Receiver.

Received the 4S 2500ma Flightpower Evo lites in the mail yesterday. They are all up with connectors etc. only 0.6 ozs heavier than the 2200ma Thunderpower Extremes. I am consuming approximately 1850ma on the 2200 Extremes after a 6 minute plus flight right now. Hopefully I can get a comfortable 7 minutes on the 2500's. Will just have to see<g>

Would it be able to carry a larger pack than the 2500 4S, say a 3300 or even 2700. I do like 10mins when ever possible.

Plenty of room to fit any battery you want the issue is weight. These tend to be nose heavy so a big pack will just make this worse. Consider putting the rudder in the tail. Especially since the mount is already there. Mine has A123 packs which are around 308g. It flies well but plan to move the rudder servo to take the lead of the tail.

Yes, I am getting the message they ae comming out nose heavy. So I will go with the servos in the tail. any thing is better than dead lead up there. Just trying to figure out I want 4S or 3S which alot of people seem to think give a pretty reasonable result. Certainly better on the $ front. But if it has to be 4S then how big can I go. Always using flight power now so what is there they can do?
So nice to have this board to get answers. Dont know what we did before computers.
thanks for the advice

2500's(4S) will get you a safe 6.5 minutes. Move rudder servo to rear if you want to use anything bigger and heavier than a FP Evolite 2500. I am considering heavier higher torque servos for the rudder and elevator over the Hitec 65MG's I am using now.

Have just had a look and the cut outs for the servos at the rear are identical to both sides so it would require another cutout and the possibility of compromising the structural integrity so not considering this an option any longer.

I went with the servo for the rudder in the fuz and its burning about 2000mAH in a flight lasting about 7mins with the stock set up and a 12 X 6 prop. The latter seems ideally matched.
