Should the be out by the paddles, or in next to the carrier?

out for docile, slower cyclic response

closer for faster cyclic response.

I fly with one all the way in and the other one about halfway out to do the 'funky chicken' while airborne. also helps to cant both the paddles about 6-8 degrees... in the same direction.

Sorry guys, just couldn't resist......

Seriously, agree with all the above. All the way out, otherwise, there's no reason to put 'em on the bird.

So, I could move them out until I don't need them, then move them in?

use them until you don't need them and then why not move them off? the stability you are looking to gain is to your advantage as a beginner, when you are comfortable, you won't want to keep them on, remove them and get the full performance instead...

make sense?

Awh, I just hate unscrewing the paddles to remove them!! Also, how do you break a paddle? I have put some dings in the rear of my blades with the paddles, but they are as good as new!

Also, I thought I read that the E-Flight paddles are better - in what way?

Strat's the man!

Better is relative, I think they have a little more mass and surface area. which means they are likely to give you more sensitive response (NOT what you are looking for at this point).

If you are that opposed to removing the paddles again, when you are comfortable with your control, move the weights all the way in on the flybar, then when you think you are really ready to do without, grind or cut them off with a Dremmel tool.

hmmmm, I was thinking...

I thought the deal on the e-flight paddles was they were lighter? hmmmm, if they are, when everyone puts their wheel collars on adn changes to the e-flight paddles, we're kind of nullifying everything right? (just thinking out loud there)

the MX400 paddles have a set screw on them, let me check out the flybar on my CP and the paddles and see if they'll work together, I think they are a bit heavier (more stability right?) besides that easier to take on and off or move to get the balance right...

Strat,

My bobble. I thought that they were bigger (more airfoil area). I stand corrected.
