Guys,

Just a quick reminder that KingCats and Bobcats are DEFINITELY welcome on our grass field. Grass heals fast in PA!! And we will also have space in our hangar for overnight storage of assembled jets......

The grass has been impact rolled twice this year with a six ton vibratory impact roller and is cut very short...... We'll be catching the grass for this event as well.

Please spread the word!!

Rick

For those of you who were never at the field here are some pictures from August Fun Fly this year.

ianober -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/9/2007 2:42:18 AM)

I was taking a look at the flying site and wonder whats the clubs main motivation for being 2.4GHZ only??? I know it welcomes all frequencies at rallies, but on a normal day I am interested to hear the rational.

uncljoe -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/9/2007 2:59:21 AM)

They could be in range of another club, about two miles away so that their reasoning for the 2,4mhz

If that is the case what will happen for that weekend?

xxspeed -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/9/2007 11:54:44 AM)

That's correct the Tri County Wingsnappers field is 1.9 miles away. at times you can hear and see the planes from one field to the other. The Farview field is 55 acers and was a golf coures, the site is to good to pass up. It's are feeling that in 2 years there will be only 2.4 used and not a issue.

bigbri -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/9/2007 3:06:04 PM)

Whats going to happen for the event...it the other club going to be a problem for the guys on 72 mHz ????

R_Belluomini -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/9/2007 3:10:52 PM)

My you have good eyes :), I seriously doubt there would be any interference on 72 mhz at that distance.

actually this event is sponsored by both clubs so the Tri County Wingsnappers Club will be shut down for the duration of the event to allow ALL frequencies to be used. Farview is strictly 2.4, however MOST events will allow all frequencies.

firestone1121 -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 2:27:11 AM)

Dave, Lee and Rick- (and whoever else i missed)

I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up. I got in contact with Channel 69 News and spoke to reporter Melissa Batulis and they are glad to come out and cover the event. She said she herself would like to come out and see the event and theres a possibility that they will be interviewing pilots. Their coverage extends from the Lehigh Valley all the way to Eastern New Jersey and Berks County so we will definitely attract the public interest. I also have radio DJ's Nick Harris from Y102 and Jo Painter from WEEU mentioning the event on the air and they put the event on their websites calendars. Channel 69 News will also be putting the event on their website calendars too. I am working on contacting the Reading Eagle to put a spot on their "WEEKEND" edition insert and hopefully that will bring more public awareness.

firestone1121 -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 11:56:52 AM)

lol yea its me. thanks buddy.

RickBoyer -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 10:20:59 PM)

FYI... Please note that this event is sponsored by two local clubs. The Tri-County Wingsnappers Club will be shut down for all three days so that we can allow ALL frequencies to be used at Farview RC Flyers. If you show up early Thursday afternoon you can fly on 2.4 GHz.

Once again, ALL frequencies will be allowed to fly at the Jet Rally. Onsite frequency scanner will be used in radio impound as well. We do not have any frequency interference issues at this field!!

f106jax -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 10:29:21 PM)

Rick,

Are we allowed to golf on the other 8 fairways that are not being used? [:D] Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and Sunday. The field looks like a great site!

RickBoyer -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 10:48:49 PM)

Hi Mike,

I'm glad you're coming to our event. Erik may need some assistance at the flight line [sm=confused_smile.gif] Bring your KingCat, as our grass field loves the smell of kerosene......

Only four fairways will be active...... [&:]

See ya next weekend!

Rick

Jetkopter -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/10/2007 11:23:37 PM)

Mike, I would be glad to lend you the golf cart. But my caddy is really old and cranky now. I dont know if you could even get two holes out of him [:D] See you on there.
Don

f106jax -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/11/2007 1:54:41 PM)

Don,

Thanks for your kind and generous offer to use your golf cart and caddy. I'll bring several gallons of Breyer's ice cream for him, perhaps that will motivate him. Do you think that he gets tired from having to carry the clubs and push the cart at the same time? [:D]

See you next week.
Mike

Jetkopter -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/11/2007 3:02:46 PM)

Mike, Joe is getting so old that the candles on his birthday cake are rumored to be responsible for global warming[:D] I think you would be better served if you got him some Ben and Jerrys becuase that is his true love. Here is another shot of Joe dreaming about getting even with Adil for all the tricks hes played on him.

RickBoyer -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/11/2007 9:37:20 PM)
