All,
I am truly humbled by the amazing turnout,the skill,and class of all the people who showed,and participated in our event today.I won't begin to thank anyone now,because there's too many people to list.Rick,Dave,Lee,Jim,and myself are amazed at the quality of people who share our passion,and shared our day with us.All gentlemen,and although the winds were gusting in a crosswind fashion for most of the day,there was always a jet in the sky.

I hope we made you all feel comfortable,and supported,and thank you all so much for making the effort to come have some fun with us.Tomorrow is supposed to be much better weather wise,and I hope many of you will turn out to enjoy another day of laid back jet flying with us.I am privileged to have made new friends today.

Fraternally,

Rick,Dave,Lee,Jim,and Erik

SkyKnight -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/21/2007 4:46:16 PM)

Speaking on behalf of the G-Force Squadron, I'd like to thank you and your club for hosting us this weekend. Your field is fantastic to say the least and we were extremely comfortable. We talked about it all the way home. The timing was great enabling us to get one more event in before the weather sends us back toi the shop for the winter. Your staff was very accomodating and seemed to perform the duties of event hosting smoothly. The jet community is fortunate to have venues with people like yourselvs willing to take the time and EFFORTS to put these things together. I can only imagine the logistics involved. We had a fantastic time despite the weather. I saw Erik off to the side a couple of times trying to do some kind of wind dance or somthing but his steps must have been backwards.

Again, thanx for having us and we look forward to the 2nd Annual Hamburg Jet Jamboree !!!

-SK

Ron Stahl -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/21/2007 10:24:47 PM)

Rick, Sorry I couldn't make it this year. I'll be there next year though. I had a family event planned 4 months in advance on the same dates. I hope someone from the MD/VA group came up.

SPLIT S -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/21/2007 10:53:29 PM)

I was able to make it for a few hours today to the meet, my first one. All I can say is WOW. Walking up to the field from the parking area I could smell the jet exhaust in the air, and the SOUND. I'm hooked and I don't even have a turbine as of yet. I'm working on my YA F18 single at the moment set up for an OS and Dynamax but I am having serious second thoughts.

The flights I saw were outstanding, especially the F100. Very scale like maneuvers and the four point rolls, well I thought I was at a real full size airshow a few times today. I didn't get to meet any of the pilots but would love to know what some of the top speeds were. The orange Phantom put on a great show as well. Looking forward to the next meet.

Erik R -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/22/2007 4:28:57 AM)

All,
We had another great turnout today,pilots and spectators.The weather was much better,with sunny skies,and light winds.I'm pleased to say that there were no crashes (other than my Bobcat mishap),and no major incidents in the whole 3 days,even though there was pretty much a jet in the air at all times.

Rick,Lee,Dave,Jim,and I want to thank all the people who helped us make this happen.Special thanks to Jack Hilbert and his crew,who kept the kitchen running with 5 times the crowd we were expecting.Thank you to everyone who attended,especially those of you who drove from far away to join us.Cory,you da man.We worked hard to make this a fun,smooth,laid-back event,and I think we were successful.You are all invited to come fly with us anytime,not just once a year at our event. It was my privilege to be surrounded by so many good people.I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon.Also,a shout out,thank you to Vinny anf the FBF boys for coming out to hang with us,and taking some great pics.Thank you,

Rick,Dave,Lee,Jim,and Erik

geh3 -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/22/2007 12:23:39 PM)

I attended from Delaware, my regular flying field is Delaware R/C and I must say that this field is easily the best I have ever flown at, no obstructions, well defined taxi and centerlines, jet wash deflectors and a great organization for a first time event. here are some pics...
P.S also great food!

geh3 -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/22/2007 12:25:09 PM)

IFlySlowPlanes -> RE: Jet rally / Hamburg, PA (10/22/2007 8:05:54 PM)

Did the DynaSTOL fly? Wish I could have seen that AND the A-10 in particular (one of my all-time favorites). Sounds like you guys did a great job (again), and if I hadn't been in NJ I would have been there. Rick, Erik, Dave, Lee, Jack and the rest all deserve the credit. Next year will be even more kick-ass, I'm sure, and I WILL be there.

Hey Guys,

On behalf of the Farview RC Flyers and Tri County Wing Snappers, thank you for the kind words written about our jet rally, facility and event staff. Thanks also to all the jet pilots, businesses and spectators who supported our rally. We hope that you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Hamburg, PA and sincerely hope that you will return for many more events. Jets will definitely be on the top of our list of priorities.

Also thanks so much to all the jet pilots (some 15 or more) who joined our club. We sincerely hope that you fully understand that we will do our best to support jet operation off of our grass field and do our best to maintain and improve the grounds. Any suggestions that you have to improve our events would be very welcome and greatly appreciated. We hope that our runway was retract friendly. [;)]

A very special thanks to Jack Hilbert for his outstanding contribution to heading up our kitchen for three days! Uncle Joe, Vinny, Mark, Dave and George, thank you for some beautiful shots of the jet aircraft and our facility! Last and certainly not least..... Thanks to all of our great guest Pilots who kept our event safe and very exciting for our very appreciative crowd!!

Rick, Erik, Dave, Lee and Jim

Erik

Erik, your not the first guy to proclaim his love for Alan. There was another guy from NJ who loved Alan too.[:D] All kidding aside thanks for a great weekend and great event. Even though its not around the corner for me, the field is worth the trip. I look forward to flying with you guys. The framed poster of the F-15 that Rick made for us is truly awsome and most appreciated. You guys put in a lot of effort to make the first Hamburg rally a great
success and it was. Im sure next year will be even better. Would you please not keep Frank and Debbie up so late next time. Frank just got out of de-tox and is starting to get his color back after your Thursday night welcoming party.
Thanks,
Don
