My friend bought a used RTR RS4. It's a shaft drive, with a single speed. He wants a 2 speed. What tranny do we need to get for it? I want to make sure we get the right one. Here is a picture of the car

Thanks.

Do you know if this will come with instructions? I've never installed a 2 speed before. Does this also mean, that the center diff is now going to be gone? I should also say that this car is a shaft drive, not belt.

I don't really know a whole lot about the actual installation of the 2-speed on the Nitro 3's, but the installation in my Racer 2 was pretty simple, and the instructions that came with it were pretty decent. I'm sure somebody else that has a Nitro 3 will be around and they can tell you for sure.

Everything in that link that IA RACER sent you is what you need to upgrade your tranny, centre diff. clutchbell etc. and if you don't get instruction for the kit you can go to the HPI site where the manuals are and look for the 'RS4 3evo' and it'll tell you how to install.
