Quick .. trade in the DA-100 for a RCS 150 or 250 radial !!!

:-)

Id have to agree...as there is no comparison in sound between the RCS radials(which are the same motors as moki from what I understand) as compared to a DA anything. Dino's plane has the 250 moki in it. Im sure the DA-100 can fly the 190, but its just gonna look odd IF the cylinders poke out the sides. But, hey, you've got a DA-100 already....so use it if you like.

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/16/2007 10:39:18 PM)

The spinner was cut out for a three bladed prop.

kahloq -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/16/2007 11:55:28 PM)

What size prop you going to use?

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 12:35:34 AM)

Mejlek 24x12

jlarsen168 -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 1:11:51 AM)

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 2:05:53 PM)

What are you going to paint it as?

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 8:05:13 PM)

I finally cut out all three sides of the spinner and fitted the prop.

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 8:14:28 PM)

This will be my paint scheme.

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 9:04:15 PM)

Thats an A-6. I thought the Airworld was an A0-A2?

You are going to find the fuse a bit short in the nose and the antenna mount wrong, as well as the cooling vents (although looking at the Airworld kit, it looks like an A5-A6 fuse from the wings forward).

Are you going to sand off the nub mount and put the post mount on the tail?

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 9:27:37 PM)

Yes.I will be modifying the fuse slightly.

jlarsen168 -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 9:40:16 PM)

Whats up snake??? from the the snake river mountains. What manuale are you using for your paint??? Is it all pictures of fw 190s

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 10:25:22 PM)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the image is from: FOCKE WULF FW 190: From 1939 - 1945

Ali -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 11:01:59 PM)

Wow get ready to add the nose weight.

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/17/2007 11:50:41 PM)

Here's a few pics of the rudder horn and linkage.

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/18/2007 12:38:48 AM)

More pictures!

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/18/2007 1:16:09 AM)

You going to add a fan?

Tom Verstappen -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/18/2007 3:03:02 PM)

LOL...I was gonna ask the same thign when i saw the pics.

Snake....the plane is looking real nice and Im impressed that the DA-100 fits inside so well.
Except for cost of course, I'd still want a 215 or 250 radial.....but...heck...not many of us have 3500 to spend on just a motor.

yeah i know....but you want big...guess you gotta pay for it huh :)
The DA-100 sure fits well and is a lot cheaper, but I got spoiled listening to Brain Omeara's Sea Fury with the 250 radial and also Dino's Airworld FW-190 with the 250 radial.

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/20/2007 9:30:30 PM)

Here are some pictures of the throttle linkage and battery compartment. Hopefully this will help with the nose weight.

Evil_Merlin -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (12/20/2007 9:50:13 PM)

Yeah Dino's bord with that 250 is insane. That guy can sure fly. I'm just bummed I didn't get a chance to visit him before he moved!

I'm going with a GT80 in my Meister Fw 190D9. Putting a radial in the Dora just seems like a crime even if I could afford one. [:D]
