Here are some pictures of the gear door almost completely installed. Modifications to the wing and gear door had to be made to use the sierra precision gear. I think it will be worth it. I have purchased the paint and with a little luck I will be flying her at Warbirds Over Delaware.

hey Snake I cant tell from the pics but is the ailerons connection made on top of the aileron or is that the bottom . I am asking because so far every pics of this plane is immacualte in scale detail but I thoght the ailerons (if that is the top ) had a zerp gap extension on the top portion of the wing on the real Fw190 and were designed with a strong angle visably seen from the bottom of the wing .,Also hinge points were extended and housed in there rectangular boxes, I know I dont need to tell you what it looked like (sorry ) just wondering why on such a incredibly detailed bird they would leave that out (if I am see the pics correctly )

The aileron linkage is on the top. This airplane is semi-scale.

wow, that is a great looking plane at any scale !!! I certainly am not questioning the quality , was just wondering overall . The plane seems to be one of the best in detail if not the best

Hi Richard,

Everything is looking good, but I feel I need to bring this up.
On your aileron connection? That aileron control horn looks awefully close to the surface of the aileron. You will loose all control of the aileron (even with the strongest of servos) at that close proximety. Leverage is the key...

Hi Dave, Thanks for the concern. The linkage is free and very secure. I purposely put two robart hinges about an inch apart. The horn is made out of G-10.Did you have to move your cg after you balanced it at 155cm from center.

Richard,
i have no doubdt that you used the strongest of materials and proper building techniques. The problem with placing the control connection too close to the surface is that a lot of occilation (forward and back) will occure between the servo and surface, this causes flutter even in the strongest of servo\horn connections. The control horn is in effect a "lever". The further away from its center you move the stronger\with least effort it becomes.
Just be sure to watch for aileron flutter durring flight and be ready for it.

My 190 flew dead on at 155cm. no adjustments made. It flies like a pattern plane.
