SNAKE STUKA -> Building an Airworld FW-190 (9/25/2007 1:55:56 PM)

I just purchased an Airworld FW-190 and a DA 100 for power with the standard mufflers. I should receive them next week. If anyone has any building suggestions with servo location, balancing ,sliding canopy methods, etc. please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Well boys, I finally received the airplane and engine. I started cutting out a 1/2 aircraft ply firewall to mount the DA 100.

now this will be a build worth watching. How did you seperate the gear doors from the wing

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (10/12/2007 3:11:44 AM)

I cut it out with a cordless dremel and a thin cut off wheel.

I am seriously considering the purchase of one of these FW-190's, so I will be watching your build with much interest.

Quick .. trade in the DA-100 for a RCS 150 or 250 radial !!!

:-)

Hi Snake Stuka;

Keep up the excellent effort, great pics. Like your use of wood screws re firewall assembly. I use that method all the time on my large models when using the DA 100 etc.

Wanted to purchase a 1/4 scale FW-190 and have looked at building plans, Airworld and Sis-T models. Sis-T are not available until summer of 2008. Sis-t maintain that their FW 190 will be a little more scale in appearance !!!!

From what I've seen of the Airworld it looks pretty good with the panel lines rivets etc.

Thanks again for putting this building thread together.

Regards
Randy

What's that stuff for?

SNAKE STUKA -> RE: Building an Airworld FW-190 (10/14/2007 11:02:51 PM)

Those are the cowl brackets and wing holdown block.

When the cowl brackets are dry I will remove the firewall and center the engine on the 1/2 firewall with the cowl attached. Then I will screw the motor box to the firewall.
