Got all my materials for the b25. so its just waiting untill i can start on it. zirolli 101inch build.
getting ready to start on my brake system for the cessna.. If it works out ok, will build another set for the b25. Time. where does it go.

That is awesome. I think I'm going to buy the Fuse. I have the wing 90% completed as well as the tail section. I allready have the fiberglass wing tips. The like the idea of the fuse made out of glass. It would save me a ton of work covering as well as the weight savings. Thanks for the link.

Regards,

Dan

For a buck and a half you cant loose on that!
I wish it was available when I put my fuse together last winter
It would have saved me several days in labor and beer to have a glass fuse.

Would you mind sending me some close up shots of the front and side windshields?
I am just starting to put mine in and windshields have always been my downfall.

Nice Job on the plane.

Do you have any build shots that you want to share?

What type of engines do you plan to install?

For anyone interestd in the G&L Hobbies fuselage I have posted a few pics of mine in progress. I purchased it several months ago and have been working on several other projects since , so I really havent done much but work on the fuselage formers and checking the fit to my wing. I am very pleased with it and I feel it is an excellent deal for the money.

Well first of all as much as i like but i can't take any credit on the build on my C310, i got really super deal on it and i bought it, i didn't build it. Here are some close up pictures of the front windshield and forward fuselage. I have to say i personally don't like the way angles are where top of cockpit windshield meets the top window frame and how shallow roof curve is. If i was to build this model i would have made sure i get proper round curve that would blend in with clear windshield screen as it's on real 310s. Nose cone is off too in my opinion but that i could easily fix later on.

Yes looks excellent for the value, how is the quality of all wooden formers that came with it?.
If i ever crashed my model, i know where to get replacement fuselage and other parts for it.
Thanks for sharing, it looks sweet..

Are the side windows glued to the side of the fuse? or are they inside the frame?

What engines do you have in yours?
I am going with SPE 26cc gas with electronic ignition and sync systems
I also made my wing a two piece instead of a three piece.
If you have read all the posts you would have seen some of the construction I have done on it.
I have two more kits of the 310 but I think I will go with the glass fuse on my next one with a pair of OS 1.60 twins.

Propsforever ,The fuelage comes with no formers or templates ,Just the glass parts. I talked with Greg at G&L before I purchased it so I was aware that no formers came with. Its not difficult to make templates and it also leaves contruction wide open to anything the builder needs to modify or incorporate into the build.

Yeah no problem man, like to help where ever i could.

It seems as clear parts were cut and then outer frame (Black) with 1/64 lite ply was made and attached to outsides of all side window frames on the fuselage, then clear pieces were glued on to the outer frame from inside.

I have read this thread but not in too much detail, it's nice to have few of these kits as you build them different with different engine to see whats the best route and how one model fly different then other!. As for engines i am also considering going gas route with 26CC's. I haven't decided what brand i will go with. I may also go with 91s, i don't know yet.

Sure i will read though the thread once again. Well we will see about selling or trading it in future but for now, i'm planning on flying it next season. Since i don't have plans for it, would you or any other builders would be kind to share some information around both main gears rail area. This model had hard landing on it last flight and sustained some damage on both sides. I want to rebuild it according to the plans and then reinforce the area. I don't have a clue as to how rails were on it originally and it seems this was not the only time it had these areas damaged, plus i don't like the idea of using poly Gorilla glue to attach the rail to the ribs or whatever they are attached to. I am posting pictures of both sides. One has bit more damage then other hence this is why i got such a sweet deal on it...

this plane was not set up for retracts so you might have to dream up some sort of lg blocks to make it work
I could scan the ribs full size if you need to scratch a few of them

I also am scrapping my Balsa fuse and going with the G&L hobbies. I like the longer nose that they incorporated into the glass fuse.
Mine was built years ago and never finished . The glue joints are old and all need to be gone over. I plan to put gas in mine anywhere between 30 and 40cc . I tend to like extra power so I'll prob go towards the 40cc range.

This is great that there is a thread on this plane. For years I was collecting all the info I could get on this plane. Last year on Ebay I found someone selling fresh plans to this kit so I picked them up.

Keep the pics coming. Also any other details you want to share on the G&L Fuse , please do.

Later,

Dan

I probably will need need to make parts of the ribs to repair and reinforce older ribs in the wing. Actually this model was built for retracts as i took out couple screws to take out one of the Spring Air mains. I also believe they were not for big planes with heavier weights and that is why they kept failing on the previous owner. Long time ago i had GP Spitfire 40 AFR, one of those first generation ones and it had same retract rail failing problem, i repaired it few times with no luck so it went off....

Here are the pictures of the Spring Air retract i took out, it's all bent out of shape and distorted also!..
