Yea thats a part I look forward to. Looks like its colored fabric you've applied to the rudder..so I'm thinking "Klass Kote clear?" Anyway be brave-give some step by step on the application thing and it might just help me too

The covering looks workable in application and authentic in looks. You are obviously a flier and surly will have your Stinson completed by sping time and with that said ,hope you can bring your Stinson to my clubs annual 'Spring Open House.'
Now remember I get the plastic I'm going to experiment a bit molding one way or another.
My Stinsons cowl is comming along good ; I added a forth light skim coat of Bondo and after finishing with sand paper blocks and (more flexible) rubber sanding pads available at your local auto body paint store- I like the detail of the cowl blisters, more on that later perhaps.I'm still waiting on a couple hobby items and I must say for living in such a populated and growing community that of Waldorf,MD its a total pain in the a-- to have to put up with ALL the shops, with all its associated traffic lights on the main throughfare and the near kaos and certainly conjestied neighboring streets.. and yet...not a single R/C type hobby shop

I added the bottom formers in preparation for sheeting and finished the rocker covers and looked over the wheel pants and they seem nice. I must comment some plastic seems flimsey but there are a number of options so I will keep on...
Okay, So I've fallen a little behind. But there is so much detail work to accomplish, that it's hard to stick with just one thing. I'm still working on getting all my wiring placed in the correct spot. I did add a baggage door, and put the servo's back there. Also created a battery/receiver area under the belly to keep things out of the way.
The cockpit is wide open and I've been planning to get to that soon. Here's a couple of photo's of my progression or lack of.
Great ideas the luggage compartment I was thinking about maybe I will go with that now as acess to to the airborn pack (s) and charge jack(s) and switch for lights depending on my Tx. program.-
No call from my LHS so I will make the call and get my Rudder pull pull and the covering ordered...
I just couldn't bury those servos under the back seat and deal with all those wires. Plus with the G-38 I'm looking at needing to add weight to the rear, so why not move things back there. The one thing I had to do was extend the sheeting back to cover that section, so I would have something to work with. Once I did that I cut my opening, and added 1/4 balsa behind the door opening to help retain the curve of the fuselage.
It's a little tricky, but I'm hopeful it will be worth it. Got my door hinged and glued into place tonight, so we'll see in the a.m. what all will need to be tweaked for a good closure. I'm leaving a 1/32 gap all the way around to allow for covering material and expansion/contraction. Hope to start on my latch mechanism as well.
I included a shot of my wing tip light, but I'm thinking I'll call RAM and get the rounded light lens, as these square tipped ones just aren't doing it for me.
Also I've seen/heard about some problems with the Rudder counterbalance, and decided to go ahead and place some cloth with a little epoxy over that area, and stiffen it up some. I'm hopefull of later on in Feb to start getting some of the major pieces engine, Futaba 9 CAP, etc....but right now I've got so much detail work, that I can't really think about it.

Ramcfarland: Thank you for keeping me in the loop of the Stinsen build. It has been a great help to me. I wish I was had the talent to be able to build like you and all the other folks. Waiting for more pics and explenations.
