Spring is in the air, you know how I know? Cause I finally open my garage door, after being shut all winter, and in rushes the new "ARF's" that buddies have been waiting on me to put together.
Case & Point, here's a Seagull's Model from Chief Aircraft. .40 size spacewalker, needs to be able to fly this weekend, as my fellow modeler wrecked his last plane. Okay so I could use a break from the Stinson for a day or two.......then back to work.

Igal: Did your kit come with the solid Ply bottom were the landing gear attaches, or did you create that. The only reason I ask is my kit came with 2 little 1/4 ply strips, and I had to upgrade/strengthen that area. I thought maybe topflite had decided to upgrade that area in the kit, and spread the load out around the bottom area, instead of just that one spot were the gear attaches. Looks good...

Jim, I did the ply bottom. The way TF designed it looked to me too risky. OS are good and reliable engined, I have 6 of them so I went and bought another one.

Well what started off as a "slow work on the stinson day" finally picked up a little speed. I was able to get most of the left strut mount completed, just need to epoxy everything into place, and CA on the plastic coverings. I'll still need to sand and shape the plastic covering for a nice fit, but at least the majority of the work is done.
I'm still not ready to do the windshield piece yet, as I fill that will be a big project, so I'll do the plastic pan that goes around the tail wheel. I was wanting to put a cover around that like on most of the stinsons, but unsure yet what I want.
Looking Great Jim and Igal I will be back in the workshop soon to cut and finish the doors. The engine install is more or less complete and the flying surfaces are finish sanded so that means I will have to come up with navigation lights and the landing light now. I looked at my T.F. cockpit kit and figure I will go with that,of course doing some modifications .
The landing gear I will add a piece of aluminum to tie the units together. I'm glad the hard work is over.
