For using a G-38, you'll hear horror stories about every kind of engine. Everyone I know who's had problems, has tried stupid ways of mounting them. Don't use the soft mounts, stay with a hard mount. Ensure your firewall can take a engine of this size, which if you add some extra bracing, which most do, you'll have no problems Engine vibration is normally caused by out of balance prop, especially on a engine of that size. For balancing a nice wooden prop, buy a can of spray polyurethane, and if one side is a little heavier, just make a quick spray on the back side, let completely dry and try again. And as I said above, using soft mounts on an engine of this size is usually not a good idea, like a washing machine, once things go out-of-balance, they only get worse. Starting problems, just choke them till you get a good pop!!, Then release the choke and flipper over. Once you get them broke in, they are no problem. Most people who have problems starting them, have the prop installed in the wrong position, and don't follow through compression stroke with there flip. Jim
