Can any body help?
I have an old Trex 450X and am thinking about upgrading. Does anybody know if the CopterX is the same as the Trex 450SE? There are loads of these advertised on Ebay saying that all Trex 450SE parts will fit! Here is a link to one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CopterX-450AE-Kit-Helicopter-T-rex-Trex-450-450SE-SE-SA_W0QQitemZ290162873700QQihZ019QQcategoryZ123847QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Any help would be great
Thanks in advance
Regards Ian.

The fact that Trex SE parts will fit on the CopterX does NOT mean that the CopterX is the same as a Trex. It just means the parts have the same dimensions, but it doesn't mean they're of the same quality; i.e. same metals, same manufacturing tolerances, etc. compared to Align parts. I'm not saying the CopterX isn't as good either since I don't know; just pointing out that "parts compatible" doesn't mean it's the same heli.

The Copter X is not a TREX heli.. all the parts are compatible but they manufacture differently. Quality is different too Align as always is said to have better quality parts and Copter X is a low grade copy. I guess its up to the users to decide and dependent on their budget.

bottom line. the copterx is a mix between the SE and SA align. it has a lot of the aluminium so thats good. The quality is better than the align in most cases you will find. The gear run is truer. The head i have had a lot less binding issues than the align. the rest of the parts have been equal in quality but definatly not less. Yes ive had an align. and YES i do own the copterx currently and am happier that i went this route. Its much less expensive and you will find you sacrafice nothing. You might be surprised to see guys out there use copterx parts to replace broken parts on there trex when they crash. hope this helps and dont forget to look at the HDX450, they say thats just plain better than the align and ive seen a few others popping up recently as well.

ok guys, i have flown many trex se's, and after purchasing my copterx a month ago and doing some serious 3d with it, go for the copterx. As far as the quality of the aluminum, its the SAME QUALITY. I know these helis, and this is built well. The only thing that i have found to be cheaper on the copter x as of now, is the se has ball bearings on both sides of the feathering shaft, were as the copterx has brass bushings. A cheap fix that is recomended. I have had a few other trex pilots fly my copterx and overall impression is excelent. If you want to save some coin, go for the copterx, but please, get the se version. You will be kicking yourself in the but latter if you don't. AS far as setup, just go to a club and find some one help you assemble. A pro could through this thing together in about an hour. You will need to learn some time, so why not now? Overall, great heli. Don't go with the rtf version, comes with cheap servo's/gyro. Get a good digital tail servo, some nice hitecs for your swash, and a 401 as your gyro. Especially if your new, a good gyro with help you in your training.

bbike,

All my Copter X came with ball bearings... even the first proto that I gothad ball bearing on the feathering shaft.. nothing different from the TREX 450SE....

for the Copter X version 2 it has all the upgades found on the TREXV2 the only thing lacking is the frame work design...

very interesting, mine DEFFINATLY came with brass bushings. I have already replaced them and those were the only bushings in the whole thing. It was a 4 dollar fix... To any one wanting a rex, get a copterx, same quality at less price. Plus they come fully blinged out. Very high quality and the thing is a 3d monster.

The Copter X V2 heli is kinda better than the first one.. it does perform a little more than the first one since the response is a little faster.. the bearing on the flybar seesaw make it more smooth...

I saw somewhere on a forum that I should go for the SE version and not the AE, what do you think?

Well, I have now recieved My Copter x SE and i am over the moon with it!. Despite it turning up with a bent flybar I am very happy with the quality of this superb heli. I have fitted it out with an E-flite motor and speed controler and a bunch of HS65MG servos, It has only got my old heading hold art-tech gyro in at the moment but i am awaiting approval from the ball and chain to get a Futaba GY401.
Initial test hovers are awesome, very stable and precise with an almost perfectly slop free control system. Thanks for all the advise and coments on this model.

The Copter X heli is quite good.. its getting pupular too.. The new version also performs great.. flies similar to the V2.. head is really well made. Less sloppy.. The only thing laking is a good powerful motor.. a 430XL will do better for this heli...
