Mike, by the looks of this build so far and all the weight people have been sticking into them I think you might need a cord coming out of Hoover Dams power plant, or maybe a nuclar power plant. What gives with this heavy monster? My friend just finished his and it weighed something like 20 pounds. He used an E flight motor and I don't know much about them. I would use the new 5345/14 on possibly 12 cells. I have the Hawker Typhoon and I think I am going to sell it because of it too is going to be a heavy monster by the looks of things.

I was ging to use a AXI 5330/18 on 2 5cell 4900 in series as far forward as possible. The plane is only supposed to weigh 13 lbs. I weighed main parts of the plane and they came out to 8lbs. I guess by the time I get the radio gear, motor and batteries and retracts and glue in there it could be pretty heavy. i am debating whether to sell this thing before I put alot of effort into it. This may not be a great candidate for my power system.

Mobyal,

What is the weight difference between your sierras and kmp gear. Also is there any play in
the strut or retract mechanism. I am leaning towards getting sierras when I get some extra cash,
because these kmp gear have some play in the retract block I can't get rid of as well as have some
twisting play in the oleo part of the strut. not to mention the two set screws that hold the strut into the
block are very very tiny, much smaller than I have seen on any other retracts. Even JB welded into the
retract block these gear are seriously making me nervous.

If the weight is the same or close that will be the determining factor as my plane is adding up on the scale quick.

Has anyone else mounted a gasser in this plane yet and got it to fit completely.

Unless anyone else has any other suggestions of a completely enclosed gasser I will
be ordering a BCMA26 this week.

One more thing while I'm asking for answers. I have a ordinance rail built for this plane and have the fairly scale
drop tank it came with now I need to build the release mechanism. Does anyone have any pics of ones they have
built that are fairly scale. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Curt

Sorry but I don't know about the weights. I didn't think to compare them and I've sold the KMP retracts and shipped them off.
BUT I can tell you that theres no play in the Sierra gear, either in the retracts or the struts.
Al

Zero play, HMMMMMMMM I really think I want a set of those sierras right about now. If Christmas wasn't so close I think I would
