Hi Dave,
Thanks for the heads up. Reckon I'll try another begging email.
The FW190 is almost done. Just need a battery (which I plan to fit in the cowl to help the CG) and a JR matchbox for the flap servos so that I can use my DX7 Tx.

Manfred...vielen dank!!!! for the FW190 link. I will pass this on to my uncle, he'll appreciate it MUCH!!!! He flew the ME109 in WW2, was also huge fan of the FW190. He was shot down towards the end of the war by Soviet anti aircraft guns over Stalingrad. He survived and was thrown in a Russian concentration camp and wasn't released until 1949.

Hi Bladerunner,
Your FW190 does look good in flight. I'm getting tempted to power mine with a brushless. I've tried to get the specs on your motor, but I can't find a KMS 53 low count. Could you please let me know the part number and other other info to help me please.
Hey blade where do you fly in HB ? We vacation there every year and are there any shops in that area that sell KMP planes ? Would be great to pick up a vacation "plane " Thanks LDM

Hello Don, I originally planned to power my FW-190 with an AXI 5330/18 on 10 cells. Then I thought it may not work well and bought a BCMA 26 gas engine for it. After seeing your video, I may go back to the AXI. Is there any way you could get some pics of the battery placement in the fuse? I have 2 4900mah FP 5 cell bats that would fit nicely against the firewall inside the fuse. What exatly is the motor Denny is using. I have seen you specify motors by low or high count, are ayou refering to like a /18 as low and a /24 as high? By the way, the B-25 sold, if you have any questions when you build yours let me know. I make alu levers for the gear door actuation. You will need them, I have sold about 40 sets alraedy through the RCU thread.
If anyone is planning on using the Sierra tail wheel, I have attached some pics that might help. It took a bit of head scratching to install it. Luckily, my piece of wood that the rudder attaches to was not glused in well, so I got it off to get access to the inside of the fin. Mike
Thank you for posting the pictures of the tail gear, I was wondering how do I will setup them when it arrives from Darrell. I am thinking too about the engine option, but I decided to install a gas engine. Regarding this, does anyone knows if the BCME 26 fits well?, I have been reading through the posts and I am not clear with it. Can someone post a picture of this engine installed in the aircraft?

I must say I have been falling behind lately, I haven't been working on mine much. No excuses just lazy.
Mike, I will be installing my retract basically the same way you have. I think it is the easiest way to do it.
On another note I ordered a scale spinner from skyshark yesterday, I got sick of waiting for others to release one. Besides the one from skyshark will work for me.
I am hoping that it will warm up above freezing soon so I can get my engine broken in. But it will still be another two months before the weather is decent enough here to get it in the air.
I was also kind of hoping that Dbalsa would release their scale cockpit kit soon too so I can get it all finished up before I take to the skies.

Looked at balancing mine the other day. Instructions say CG should be 130mm back from front of the wing. I have taken this as the point where the wing joins the fuselage.
When this point is extrapolated to the wing tips the CG seems to be a long way forward, with very little of the wing area ahead of the CG.
Anyone else come across this? Mine already weighs 7.5Kgm (16.5lb) so I am reluctant to add any more weight than I need. Appreciate any thoughts you may have.

Terry, If I remember right when I checked mine the 130mm came out just behind the wheel wells right about on the wing spar. I didn't really think it seemed much different than any other plane I have flown. I do however balance nose heavy a little bit. I like how they track in the air better with a little on the nose heavy side. I think mine will be aroung the 16 lb mark as well.

In the expectation of needing weight in the front (especially with an OS120 2c motor) I installed a 6v/2400mAh NICAD inside the cowl mounted on a rather agricultural bracket I welded up from angle iron! Not sure what this set up weighs, will try and weigh it tonight if I get chance.
So far I've added about 1lb of lead to this (the bracket came in handy) and still need more to get back to the 130mm mark (which I also locate just behind the wheel wells). Plan to take it down the flying club on Friday to get some help from the guys in rechecking the CG location. (Keith, if you're reading this be sure and turn up!)
Regards
Terry

Terry,
I don't have a newer pic so this will have to do to explain.
I moved all servos forward to the indicated red positions. Where as the manual says to install them in the blue positions. I did leave the rudder/steering servo in the green position which is where the manual states. I don't know if moving the 2 elevator servos, the throttle servo and the retract servo forward helped much, but I was hoping it would at least help offset the weight of the scale cockpit materials and some of the tail retract. I am also hoping that the installation of my gas engine with ignition system and extra battery will get mine close. I will soon see. It might not glide well but at least it will handle a little wind.
Good luck with yours.
Ooops forgot pic.
