Hi Al,

Tailwheel is Dubro Cat No 957. Picture is below. I added a couple of light springs between the wheel assy and the bracket, also had to extend the shaft to fit the pull-pull. Was able to do all the instal through a hole cut in the rudder post.

Regards

Terry

Thanks a lot Terry. Neat install and just what I'm looking to do. I'll try to copy yours if you don't mind!
Al

jd do you have a link for the headers ? I like the hook up , I would probably add Macs flex pipe vs the Dubro , simple fix but 100% assured to take the heat

Almost got a maiden flight in yesterday!

Weathers been dry and warm for a couple of days now so things have dried out somewhat. Took the plane down to the club, strip had been recently been cut and was fairly short.

Made a few runs down the strip to see how the plane tracked. Pleasantly surprised to find that it was fairly easy to keep straight, though you do have to keep feeding right rudder in. Not really unexpected as there is no side thrust on the motor.

Couple more runs increasing the speed, beginning to get the feeling that this bird actually wants to fly (all 17.4lbs of it!). When it became apparent where the flying weight was headed I had some concerns about whether the 120AX had enough guts for the job, less worried now having seen the way it accelerated. Comes up onto the mains nicely and looks ready to fly with a bit more speed.

Looking good for a first flight once the sun gets up a bit (early on it's right in your face, either for take off or landing - don't need that for a 1st flight!).

Then discover the retracts, which had been working fine at home are giving problems. Seems like the air pipe to the wing is getting constricted as they work OK with the wing off, but it's not obvious where. After fiddling a bit I decide that it's a workshop job. Could have flown with the wheels down but decide to chicken out for today.

All in all I'm happy with the day's result, and am starting to think that we may have a flying brick at least. Will sort out the retracts in the week and aim for next Sunday. Since I have now unretired (again) I can afford the hobby but don't have time to pursue it!

LDM, I got the header off E-Bay. I will find his info and post it. I am going to change the dubro elbows they were easy to use in setting up the exaust. When they burn out I will change to the Macs flex.

I talked with Andrew Kondor at WRAM this weekend.

The Fw 190 is getting a full fuse rework. I guess my words finally found some impact someplace.

As I said in the other thread, I talked with him as he was selling his 3 bladed props like a mad man.

Thanks JD , keep me posted , you wont be disappointed with Macs product , you can call them when needed and they will let you know what to order for the job at hand .

Evil thanks for the offer on the Pms when I start my build , I will take you up on the offer . I am planning on a sliding canopy , and all the retracts , doors ect .
All i need to purchase is my servos , full bodied pilot and gas tank for the G26ei that power this thing . I am considering doing the wing in flite skin vs traditional fiberglass

Yep, I may have to take back most of the smack talking if they do fix the issues.

The props were KMP Signature Props, all three bladed, from 14x8 to 16x13. Good looking flight props in my honest opinion.

LDM, just keep in touch and I'll give you all I can.
