Quite a few of you seem to agitated by the rantings of certain "scale experts" on this thread. The best way to deal with Mr. Merlin for me was to use the BLOCK option to all his inane comments. Interestingly for someone who abhors this ship and does nothing but rag on it, he sure spends alot of time on this thread. Me thinks maybe he is a mole for another company. Bottom line, if you want dead on scale, get some scale plans and build your own from scratch! Personally, this KMP Fw is THE best arf model I have ever seen or bought for under $1000.00. It is so sweet looking I can hardly wait to get her up on the building table and into the air. Sorry for those of you who waited and can't get one now. With a little extra detailing and weathering this could be the finest looking model at quite a few flying fields.

If I remember correctly the gear is the same color of the retract bay, RLM 02 (grau) which should be FS 34159.

You do realize that Bentley redid all his drawings for the Fw not too long ago right?

His website says he's found better ways to reproduce the drawings without distortion from the master set. Either way, I've compared what I posted with the same sheet on his website and I see no differences whatever.

I own both. The differences from his early plans and is current plans are wide and noticable. Not to mention, he has specific plan sets for the various Anton's now.

I'm done discussing this.

An opinion was asked of the "scaleness" and an opinion was given. From the images of the KMP plane posted, my opinion still stands. People can think its the cats meow on "scaleness" including those involved in its developments, but those with the knowledge and experience with the real FW 190 A8, know better.

I'm glad you are happy with your choice, I will still be providing assistance to those who ask for help making the plane look the part.

I haven't bought one yet - since they haven't arrived in the UK so far. In fact after all my critical posts here and on RCMF I'm not sure YTinternational will even sell me one.

@dvs1 or another owner - is there a brace or strut between the wing panels? I haven't seen one in any of the photos so far.

Thanks Manfred, I just found the "block" button! That was a nice feature.
I am following this thread with great interest as I also think this KMP-model looks great.
Looking forward to the first flight reports.

dvs1, nice work with the geardoors. Any progress with the scissors?

Do you mean a wing spar if so yes there is a large spar you use to epoxy both wing panels together. I personally think the wing is quite strong,
unlike what I have been hearing about the KMP stuka.

Not yet if I have time I think I will start something tonight. I will post some pics as soon as I make some progress. thanks for asking

Hi Guys,

There are quite a few photographs of the FW-190 which is on display at the Imperial War Museum, in London, on our flying club website at:

www.brcmac.org.uk

Look in 'Scale Data' - 'Warbirds', then click on the photo of the FW190

I have the original images, plus a lot more, so if you need the full 5Mb image please let me know and I'll forward them to you.

Regards,

Sarah

Hi

Guys when i first came across the pictures of this model i though this is the best ARF i have ever seen of a fw190. my reasons for this is. i have no time to start from a plan and one other small detail i suck at kit building. And the other thing is i have one of the last ones in australia. and all my fellow flyers at the local club hate me even more for this.

Ok everybody,
It is time to decide on an engine for this baby and I need some help deciding as well a opinions.
I am very open to engine choices as long as they meet these three criteria.

1-It has to be a gasser.
2-Must be 26cc or larger
3-Really, Really would like everything to fit inside the cowl including spark plug and boot.

I know getting everything to fit in a plane this size is a lot to ask but that is what I would like.
I have been looking at the zenoah g26 w/electronic ignition but plug would definatly stick out even if
I took advatage of the cowl blisters. I also was thinking about an evolution 26cc which I think will fit but
don't have any experience with these motors. If anyone has any comments or suggestions now is the time.
Cowl diameter where engine will mount is approximately 8.5 inches or 215 mm.

Again thanks for any info and suggestions. I would prefer to spend under $500 but would be willing to go a little
more if complete cowl enclosure was attained.

I also would like to thank those that are staying with this thread and posting your building progress as well as your
opinions and suggestions

I forgot to add that weight is not a factor as this baby will need everything up front.

Shafs,
Glad you found one, can't wait to see you get building and post some pics. I really like to see how you guys
down under are doing and see if anyone is further in the build than I am.

whats the cowl dimentions ie. the diamiter of the cowl that would be the ultimate dimention for your gasser.
like I posted several pages back, I have a BCMA26 really a modified SPE26,if it would fit in this plane with no cowl cutting then using it would be a option for me, since YT recomends a 120fs then a 26 gas, of any brand should would work OK,after you all work out the details of fitting the engine of course I would like to know the plane I was going to use it in really is a bit to small so a if I could find a home for it in a nice looking ARF that would be great.
EM keep posting please I do like hearing the real deal about scaleness even if I am not a scale critic myself, knowledge is a positive thing, helping improve the finished product is the goal.
