all my TT01 have metal motor mounts, one is using 19/61 combo on P2K2 Pro, the other is 20/61 on Team Orion SV2 19x2 BB, the pinion gears on both cars needed to be replace after they went through about 20 battery packs (IB4200), both cars are riding on ABS and yes the motor mount are in the correct position (one A the other on B). my brother's bone stock TT01 also go through pinion gear about the same rate as I do and he has the sport tune motor with stock gearing.

dude my entire tt01 is alu. (well almost)
the front hubs(uprights) from GPM are stronger than the tamiya parts.
the carbon shaft is lighter, thus spools faster.
most of the alu stuff doesnt wear like the plastic parts.

You had the same problem?Pinion ans spur gear stripping. Were you using the stock motor?

I'm gonna give it a shot at just spraypainting all of my parts blue... rofl.

It won't have the same shiny look, but shine a bright torch onto it and take a pic, shove it on here, and I'm the king of alu parts. wow.

so cool.

That's a funny sig LOL

If your TT-01 is stock just like the millions of them out there what's the fun in that? Competition is what makes things progress, although there will always be a few wheel spinner hub caps out there that makes you laugh.

The trick is where you balance lies. $ vs performance, look vs function, EQ & IQ, bragging rights vs looking like an ****...

Personally I like to see other people's attempts and say "let's not do that" or "marvelous! I was gonna try that next first!"

A few bits of metal won't make you a better drifter. It'll just make you really suck when someone asks you to show your stuff on their stockie. Then you're doomed, my gangster.

Edit: I will be purchasing a set of bearings for the car, and an alu drive shaft. If only the gears came in metal form, wether they were lead (super heavy) or alu, I'd still buy them. A new motor instead of the spray can one (540) would be good...

if you drift regulary or heavily like I do, make sure you stock up them pinion gears because they WILL wear out fast, mine worn quicker than the ABS tires that I had. LOL

set your oven at 500 degree, put your tamiya pinion gear in it for 5~10 minutes, and this is what you get (see picture), yup, it's perfectly fine.

My Robinson 48pitch hardened pinion gears can withstand 800 degree all day long. Although our gear box would never see such extreme temperature, but it tells me the tamiya gear is made out of junk material, a good quality steel gear will glow red in the oven instead of melting like butter(like tamiya junk)
