What degree pitch (stock) should the blades be at at the following throttle positions?
0 throttle
1/4 trottle
1/5 trottle
3/4 trottle
full trottle

Also does it matter which blade to use the pitch guage on for the reading? On my heli the readings are not the same on each blade.

Hi chopper guy, I found the pictures imbedded in a photo site. they were not for guest veiwers which led me to RCgroups where someone else had also just discovered it. There hasn't been any other information on the internet about this helicopter other than the legitimate pictures which weren't supposed to be found. Esky' seems to keep things under wraps pretty well. Hopefully there will be some information soon.

In normal mode for belt CP I fly

-2
0
+2
+5
+7

And in Idle up

-8
-4
-1
+4
+8

You may want to dumb down the pitch points at max and min if you are not doing 3D, most people would suggest -1,0,2,4,7 and ilde up -7,-3,0,+3,+7

If your blades are not tracking the same pitch you want to correct for that first, you won't get much better range and good flight unless the tracking is dead on first. If you can make them track then I'd say it doesnt matter wich blade you use. If worse came to worse and you couldn't correct for it then I'd use your pitch guage on the higher of 2 blades (the higher pitch range blade than the lesser)
cheers

Ok, I've been reading and seeing that many fliers are changing their servo's from stock to Heading Hold....
As I am just getting into CP flight, transitioning from Coaxial, and since my CP should be arriving soon, I have to ask....

what is the difference between the stock Gyro and the Heading Hold Gyro... ? Is this something I should consider and how difficult is the change? Do i have to change any other electronics if i change the Gyro??? Do I need to make changes in the TX settings and if YES, what would they be????

thanks

I have a new Belt cp rtf version with the esky ek2 0704 gyro. When I hover the tail turns to my left. Should I leave the trim halfway and try to correct this with the gyro first before the trim? Thanks If its going left when I stand behind it should I add (+) gain on the gyro or sb (-) it... Thanks Anyone have pics on how they mounted the battery with that long peice of velcro that came with the heli?

Use the trim to correct it. You can't correct it with the gyro. Add gain to the gyro until the tail starts searching back and forth all the time. Then turn the gyro gain down (-) until the searching just stops.
If you have to set the trim too far in either direction, consider moving the tail server front or back until the trim is close to center and the heli doesn't turn left or right.

I can post a picture of the battery strap in about 6 hours.

A gyro stops the tail from moving on it's own when you apply pos. or neg. throttle. It steadies the tail. In a cross wind, the tail may not stay put and your heli could still change direction.
A HH gyro locks onto a heading. In a cross wind, your heli may drift left or right, but it'll still be heading in the same direction. The nose still points in the direction it's locked on to.

In each case, adding left or right rudder will still change the direction of the heli. It flies normally, as you'd expect it to. With a HH gyro, it sets the new heading to lock on to.

HH gyros are no harder to connect that a regular gyro. The Telebee Zoom gyro is HH and faily cheap, and very easy to use and connect. It has 2 cables coming out of it. One connects to your Rx channel 4 (same place as the stock gyro) and the other goes to channel 5 (which was empty). Then when you have the gyro switch on your stock Tx in the UP position, the gyro is in standard rate mode. With the switch in the down position, it's in HH mode. Right now, there's not reason why you'd want to use standard mode. Keep it in HH mode and it'll lock better and be easier to fly.

The BeltCP ARF does include a rate gyro.

Thanks for asking.

Once I get my heli in the mail and open the box, I know that I'll be checking it over while charging the batt. Now, after that do I need to be concernd with these pitch settings that every body is talking about or is that for comp radio only? I know that you need to make sure that the blades and swash and head is all lined up but what else do I do? WILL THE INTRUCTIONS THAT COME WITH THE HELI COVER ALL OF THIS?

The first thing to do is tighten all the screws, then level the swashplate then disconnect the battery and ensure the radio commands to the servos are correct and nothing needs reversing then you need to set up the tail servo/gyro. this may all be correct from the factory but better for you to check than crash on your first flight from a poor set up.

the pitch settings on your rtf heli will be set for a certain range. that's not to say you can't change the range but it's more of a shift.

What you should be doing is making sure the pitch is 0 at center stick of the throttle in idle up, this will set what the pitch settings are for the rest.

but if you want to change it for some reason....
if the heli is set up for -1 to +8 in normal mode then you can change it to +1 to +10 or -3 to +6, this are just examples not suggestions. you can do it by increasing or decreasing the length of all three rods from the servo to the swash plate. I would suggest that you not change anything until you're familiar with what you're doing as any changes in normal mode will change your settings in idle up.

Here you go.
After I run the strap, I hook a rubber band around it. I use a leftover superskids battery clip to hold the rubber band, but you can just run it around the battery and the frame.
