Batteries:

Ah the battery question.

Seems all manufacturers "adjust" their batteries to get the output they want. Your best bet with the belt is to get a battery at least 195g in weight up to about 235g. This is rough but works well. I flew on a 1300 leaded to make it balance (once)...Man was that a HOT battery LOL.

PS I just wadded my Belt into a grassy knoll on Saturday....and I already spent my heli fund for this month ^%$%$&^*$@!!!!

Argh!

Good Luck
Enjoy

It fits..... Sweet as. the Trex head is so much better quality and almost the same price.

Kelownan,

Can you send a link to the actual T-REX head you are using? Also, what did you do for the swashplate? The TREX swashplate appears to have the fore/aft servo ball link on the same side as (connected to) the little slider pin which is opposite of the belt-cp setup.

Thanks!
-Bret

I've got the same questions. I'm going to be getting a aluminum head in the next day or so. Witch is better, the t-rex head or the e-sky head?

If I was going to aluminum, this is what I would get. Has the best of both the TREx and Belt head design. I would stick with the BELT ALuminum swash though. Their tail is also the best I've seen in all Aluminum.

Although I haven't upgraded, here is another option. Click on the image and you'll see that the swashplate is the "B" style that will fit the Belt so there is no need to purchase a separate swashplate like you have to do with some of the other head options. Also made with the harder 7075 aluminum alloy. I have confirmed with them through emails that this will work on the Belt and that it also comes with all the necessary connecting rods and links. I think the balls on the swashplate are slightly larger than on the Belt but all you need to do is screw in the balls and the anti-rotation pin from your stock Belt swashplate. Someone on the Heliguy.com Belt forum did this upgrade and said it worked out well.

For about $130 you could scale it out. 5 Blade head from a guy at RC groups. I personally, like the 4 blade head. No special gyros either. Sick!

Dose anyone know if the stock main gear and tail gear (the actual gears) form the Belt CP will fit on the SuperFrame STK frame? If so i think that will be my next thing to buy. Im tire of the slop in the head the all the cam stuf between the servo and the head.

Evdreamer, thanks for the info, I end up using the stock arms of the S3154 and seems to be working ok.

I have a Gyro question: I installed a new gyro, Futaba GY401 according to Finless video. When the gyro is on and I move the tail by hand the tail pitch slider moves the right way just like the video. The problem is when I move the rudder stick on the TX, if I move the stick to the left the slider moves right but when I release the stick to return to center stick, the slider does not move back to the middle of the axel. Same thing if I move the stick to the right, the slider moves to the left but would not return to center when I release the stick. When the gyro is off and I move the rudder stick the slider will move and return to center as I release the stick.
Is normal that the slider does not move back to center when the stick is release when the gyro is on?
Or is there a problem with the gyro, servo or transmitter?
Gyro: Futaba GY401, Servo: Futaba S3154, Transmitter: Futaba T9CHP Super, Receiver: Futaba R149DP

I Appreciate any help/input on this. Thanks!

Your welcome. First off are you doing this in standard rate mode? I assume you are since you watched the finless video. It sounds like the gyro is set up backwards. It is probably trying to correct the tail the wrong way. When I move the rudder right the pitch slider moves right and when I move the rudder left the pitch slider moves left. On the transmitter my rudder is set as Norm on the reversing menu and the gyro is set at norm.

Manitou,
Sounds like your gyro is fine. It is actually waiting for the change in position that you called for with the Tx input. This is why it's important to set up the gyro in standard rate mode, then finish in HH mode. It doesn't recenter and may actually drift to full throw. It's also important to set your endpoints for this reason.

Good luck

Mike

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know if the Sonix CNC head is 100% compatible with the Align 450 head? If not, where do you get replacement parts for this head?

One thing that I particularly like about the Align head is the availability of parts ... I can even get them at my local RC stores. But I'm still wondering what the current belt-cp owners using the Align 450 head did about the swashplate ... did they separately buy a type-B swashplate or modify the belt-cp frame so the pin holder is in the front?

Hopefully one of the belt-cp owners with an Align 450 head will share their solution.

Thanks,
-Bret

Don't really know how compatible the Sonix head is with the Align. However, I believe the same website that sells the Sonix also has the individual replacement parts. They are pretty good about answering emails so you could also check with them on the use of Align parts. Was just offering it as another possibility (actually hoping someone else might try it and let us know what they think!).

I guess the real question I would like to know is how durable are these metal heads? Seems like you really shouldn't have to replace parts that often. Shouldn't the metal heads be able to survive minor crashes and blade strikes??
