Best charger I've seen so for for 70.00 bucks is the Imax B6, it charges up to 6s lipo's has all the safety cutoffs and charge options that a big boy 150 dollar one has and will also charge lion and nimh. Another alternative for lipo's is the Electrifly Triton Jr DC Computer Charger and Dis-charger. A little more expensive but a couple more options and well known brand name.

As for batteries I've had great success with Xtreme power 1700mah 11.1v 20c packs. They do not conform to the battery tray well but for the power I get 15 minutes of basic flight.
MEGA POWER LiPo 2100mAH 15C 11.1V are also a great alternative if your on a budget. I get true 20c from these batteries and the weight is a plus for longer flight times. Some flight have lasted up to 20 minutes. 3rd option is Loong max batteries, thin, light, and affordable price. LM Loong max 1800 3S1P 20C Lipo can be found for as little as 22 dollars. won't find that price for power anywhere else!!

E-SKY 1800mAH 3S 11.1V Lipo Battery 15C - $33.00
PolyQuest QT Series 11.1V 1800mAH/15C 3S - $44.00
Xtreme power 1700mah 11.1v 20c - $36.00
MEGA POWER Li-Po Battery 2100mAH 15C 11.1V - $39.95
LM Loong max 1800 3S1P 20C Lipo - $22.00
LM Loong max 2250 3S1P 20C Lipo pack - $32.00

Most all listed are tried tested and successful. Whatever you chose just make sure you don't go under 9v total discharge and never charge passed 12.6. These batteries work great with the BL and esc in the kit.

I'd go for the Imax b6 and 2 batteries with aound 1800mah if your just starting out and cycle the batteries one after the other so they both get used the same amount.

Cheers

are u using the stockTX? More head speed will help. Also, flybar weights. If you have a programmable tx, then expo can calm things down a bit

On the upper left of the tX is the 'hov pitch' dial. Turning it full CCW will take out pitch, which will require more throttle (higher headspeed) to lift off. NOt a good adjustment if you are using idle up, but it sounds like you want better hovering. this will also give you better tail authority since the tail is 5 times faster than the head, small headspeed adjustments in the head will have a large effect on the tail.

Let us know how it works out.

Michael

Man you are full of wisdom. I just bought a Belt-Cp, I couldnt beat the price. I have been learning on a FP falcon 40 after becoming bored with my coax. I have only been at this for about three months from coax>Sim>FP. now CP. Your advice is priceless. I have burned a tail motor and replaced it on my FP fnally broke rotor head had to repalce and I was getting to the point of hovering out a full battery pack before I crashed. I wont be taking my Belt for any full runups until I can hover my FP in a 5 foot square, which I have painted on my garage floor. I really appreciate you guys who have this "corporate" knowledg sharing with us newbies.

Ok...so I bought this little foamy rc helo the other day...and I love playing with it...the only problem is its just wetting my appetite for a more realistic helo. I'm considering a belt cp...what can anyone tell me about using sims to practice? Do you need a radio..or just 'fly' on a PC...how does it all work and help me not to crash???

E-sky the same maker of the belt cp has a 4 channel simulator for PC. If you want to do basic flight for heli's and 3D flight for airplanes this is a great simulator to start with. I have imported several heli's and airplanes from real flight simulator and xtr that work fantastic. The limitation of 4channels on this simulator does prevent you from doing most 3D but for learning all the basics it works great at 19.99.

The alternatives are Real Flight simulator, xtr, FS one and others. All with a price range of 140-199.00. If you aquire a real transmitter for your heli's there is a simulator to PC cable for almost all of them out there.

cheers

I've had my Belt CP for about 2-1/2 weeks now. I'm just learning to trim and fly it. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get it trimmed properly. I just gotta keep practicing.

As far as simulators go, I just dove in and started flying. I've been real patient with mine and I don't get too crazy with it. I just wanted to get the feel of the real thing. I also made my own training gear out some plastic coat hangers.

practicing with a sim will help, regardless of what stage of flying you're at. the more realistic the sim the better it will help you, it's a lot cheaper to crash in a sim than in real life. it has helped me quite a bit, a friend and I started at the same time, he's probably got at least twice the real flight time that I do but he doesn't have a sim, I've got around 40-50 hours on mine. I fly a lot better than he does, I can hover in a smaller area, do simple forward flight and figure 8's and mix in some piro's. he's still trying to hover in a 10' circle.

I've got G3.5 right now but will probably sell it to get G4 (I know there's not much difference but really it's only another $90 after I sell my G3.5).
