It looks like they are $35 a piece. I got mine in the Spektrum microlite bundle.

Morning Fly To Chill:
I use HS55's and they are a good choice, very cost effective, $14.99 each and spare gear sets are available.
I get them from Michael at US HOBBY SUPPLY. Good price, fast shipping. Very reliable. Michael also is part of this thread, so why not support one of us.

Fly to Chill:
I would use the HS-55 for the rudder. The Belt CP manual calls for the same servo in all locations. By using the same one it would limit the spare parts needed.

Everyone:
I finally hovered over three minutes straight!!! What a rush of adrenaline to get it up for that long! After coming back to Earth, I took a 30 minute break, and hovered some more. As soon as I set it down, I saw smoke coming from the canopy - my ESC was on fire!!!!! I quickly disconnected the battery and contained the fire before it consumed my helo. Talk about a range of emotions! Now I'm in the market for a good ESC so I won't have that problem again. I read earlier that the Belt CP's are known to catch fire - I didn't think it would be mine until it actually happened. Everyone beware!!!!

Congrads on the hovering...

I really think that E-Sky should be getting some phone calls about the ESC catching fire... that is just BS.. and could be extremely dangerous...

Although... it would look realistic all in a fire ball and everything, lol I just hope it isn't my chopper

Evening Cjennjr:
Gald about the Hover , sorry about the fire.
Man that must have been some HOT flying.
Sorry I could not resist the pun.
I am going to replace my ESC with HobbyWing - Pentium 25a and programming card, In the near future.
I think The reason the E-sky ESC catches fire is that the heat sink is under the shrink wrap of the ESC. Thus eliminating any air flow over the cooling fins. I am going to remove the shrink wrap and figure out how to secure the cooling fins to the ESC. I will let you know what works.
Here is a link for the ESC and Programming Card

In fact, I removed the plastic wrap a couple of weeks ago, flew inside for short bursts, checked the ESC and the ESC did not get hot at all, unlike it did with the plastic on. I kept a little piece of the back plastic on and put a plastic tie around it to secure it to the frame. The more I think about this fire, the more pissed I get. I had a Raptor previously, and as soon as the motor went out, everything else followed, and I could not get it back flying again. Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't happen with my Belt CP. Thanks for the link to the ESC and programming card. Is it hard to program an ESC? And, do anyone know the purpose of yellow looking ball with the three wires btwn the ESC and the receiver connection? Do I need to keep that on when I get another ESC? Any help would be appreciated.

Even if I have a telebee gyro,I thoght that you need a faster servo for the rudder.

Cjennjr:
The programming card for the Hobby Wings ESC makes it unbeliably simple to program. The Hobby wings ECS also has a built in Li-Po alarm. That extra feature for me, makes it a better buy than most, I will have to worry less about the battery being ruined because I flew too long.
Here is a link to the Manufacturers web site for the ESC.

This is for the Programming card. This link also explaines how to program the ESC. So simple that even I could do it.

I have no Idea what the yellow looking ball is. Maybe you could post a picture of this component.? Could it be a ferrite ring magnet with with wires wrapped around it??
Is is a part of the ESC? If it dose not come with the new ESC you should not have to move it over to the new one.

Morning Rusted:
I moved from fixed pitch world to the CCPM world by upgrading to a Belt CP. Did quite a lot of research before buying. I found that the Belt CP is a very good value. A lot of the parts are interchangeable with the Trex, and it is less expensive to get into initially.
If you are considering hard 3-D, I would go for the carbon fiber edition, which already has, CNC aluminum head, buy a Spektrum DX6i, or a DX7, TX/RX. The RTF is a good starting point to get into the Belt CP. But the TX/RX leaves a lot to be desired. If you opt for the ARF Belt CP, I, we will be glad to help you with the parts list and even where to order the stuff. unless you can buy the Belt CP locally. I really do like my Belt CP, fun to fly and can be challanging. Also you should use at leas a 2200mah Li-po. anything less will give you CG problems.
By the way, I fly a Belt CP with a Spektrum DX6i.

Have A Great Day
