Thanks for the Scoop crashnbash

OH tommis Im 3mth into CP. Ive been flying for 9mth on FP and am reasonable. I did lots of reading on CP so

While were on the subject of Aussie talk ... im from Kiwi land and have lots of aussie mates

My CP doesnt have a Dooberwhackie. Should it?

Presonally i like the Phrase "whackadoo"

Well, I think it is meant to. That ferite donut wrapped in black shrink rubber or whatever it is. In the manual it is called something along the lines of a anti-jamming device. My take on it is that it's a coil used to stop signals interfering with the ESC??? It is hooked up in line with the ESC channel.

Could it be that the white Belt CP is a newer addition of the yellow Belt CP. If yours is a yellow one then maybe that is the case and it doesn't have the "dooberwhacker/whackadoo" attachment.

Imagine if you went into a store and asked them for one!

3 month aint bad mate. I started on the same helicopter as PhillyD in this thread - we both came over from the Walkera 22E thread so that we don't mess up that thread with Belt CP talk. That heli is a very light and nimble entry level 6ch heli. I flew it for about 4-5 months and then upgrades to a Belt CP.

Yep the new Belt CP...lol, the Belt CP II, looks great. I wonder if, when I upgrade, I'd go for it or buy a T-Rex 450 as they're only around $400 on ebay. Pretty crazy seeing that my local hobbie store has them for a grand!

Kiwi land that's good! You know, the entire time I've been on RCU I've only come across (very briefly) one other aussie but he's all the way in Perth!

Morning All:
The antenna length problem can be solved with a small mod that can be purchased at US Hobby Supply.

It is a Mini Power Antenna. You cut the main antenna to 4" and then solder on the Power antenna. It is a loaded coil type of antenna, It still hase the same amount of antenna wire. They work very well, and have no noticeable range loss, You can still fly the heli out of view.

Yes they will (well almost). The right rear servo is a tight fit but if you remove the servo labels and perhaps do a little light filing you can get it to fit. The wire leads on mine were a bit shorter than stock so I needed a servo wire extension on one of my servos (my Spektrum RX is mounted on top of the front servo bracket so it's a long distance from the rear servos). The SG90's are definitely an improvement over the stock servos.

Ok Guys, lets see if I did the trouble shooting correctly for a bad gyro.

I went out to fly and had tested all servo movement earlier in the day. Everything worked correctly.
When I connected the power the Gyro light acted normal, however when I moved the rudder stick, nothing happened with the rudder servo.
I removed the gyro from the loup, and plugged the servo directly into the RX.
The servo moved correctly.
When I put the gyro back in the loup, no rudder servo movement.
I would say that my Gyro is dead.
Do you all agree???
Thanks for the help.

Have A Great Day

Did you ensure that you had rudder trim and sub trim at center? and wait enough time for the system to init?

Weird how it used to work on the old frame, but now its kaput!

keep us updated,
Michael

I checked all my trims for zero, and the RX light is flashing slowly, not on stesdy.
The Gyro light also goes from fast flash to slow flasn. all seems normal except no rudder response when hooked through the gyro.
The system was fine earlier today, about 1 hour befor the rudder failier.

If youve ever heard the whackadoo in aus, My mate says it means "whatever" "So what?" that kind of thing.

Yes My CP is the Yellow one. I wanted a white one but couldnt get it. Anyhow ive never had any problems with radio glitches and my crystal less 7ch radio set. but i guess when i upgrade my ESC it may be worth Getting a Dooberwhackie.

Also I have a 2.4ghz RX on my Larger KYOSHO CALIBER XP400 and apart from the size of the futaba TX its great, Tho im not putting a 2.4 on my BeltCP untill i get over crashing - its a $70 price if it busts in a crash and i would seriously cry if that happened.

Heliaction and Disney,

Thanks for the antenna info guys....I have mine threaded into the straw tube thing at the moment but it looks like I'll have to take it all apart again anyway because yesterday when I test flew it had a vibration. I weighted the blades, leveled and tracked them to dead on but it still had vibration. Took blades off and fired up the main shaft...wobble. Sh[t!!!!

So...tonight in goes the new shaft and then she should really be a mighty fine tuned Belt CP!

I've never bothered to weigh blades but now I do...lol, a pack of replacement blades weight 22g and 28g....I have now
