tommis, if you were to go down the 2.4 road (and if you can afford it i suggest you do) i would get the DX7, although the 7th channel is not an issue with a small elec heli, i might be with a nitro if you want one in the future. DX7 and ar6200 rx can be found on ebay for $189.DX6i, DX7, Faast whatever radio you will be able to do sooo many things like setting throttle curves, pitch curves, have throttle hold function for autos, mate loads. As someone mentioned you can have model memory. With the DX7 i can have up to 20 different models set there so if i have planes, nitro heli, elec heli, anything all i have to do is select it and all the setting are there.

Can you post a link where I could get such a deal? Been looking for a while..... most DX7 are above 300..... that's with servo etc etc... I only want to buy the Tx and a 6 channel Rx.

Nitroxda, i made a mistake in that post. I got an ar6100 rx and not the 6200 stated. As for a link, i had a look on ebay and couldnt find the guy i got mine off. There were a few at the time i got mine, i think nitrohobbies or something like that. Honestly it has been almost a year so anything could happen, i do know though that i hunted high and low for that price. I could only afford the dx6 at the time but i knew if i could get the dx7 and rx without the servos it would be better.

Everyone that I have spoken with thinks the DX6i is a great value. There several fliers that have FP and CP helis flying both on the DX6i.
I have a word file that is a large post that I am creating to put on the RCU site to walk a person throught the setup for a DX6i and Belt CP, If you would like to see the word file PM me with your email and i will forward you a copy.
Also the best price I have found on the DX6i is at US Hobby Supply, His price is $10 under every one else. If you have not ordered from him before he has fast shipping, and great customer service. If he is out of stock on the Radio, go to CONTACT US on his page and let him know you want one and he will let you know when they arrive in stock.
Also US Hobby Supply has a large selection of parts for the Belt CP, If you break it he probably has it. And if he says that it will work in place of an OEM part it has personally been tested by him to work. He also has quite a few upgrades too.

Now you're just forcing me to get one

Ok, well I'll have a look on his site and see what it's like. I take it that he does ship internationally to Australia? Is there any chance that he might offer Paypal as a form of payment or will it just be credit card? I'll have another look at his site - I got it saved here somewhere.

Mate you're going to great lenth with that word file - that's the sort of stuff we need more of! Great work - I take it that you already fly with a DX6i for your Belt CP.

Morning tommis85:
Let me twist you arm gently.
Yes US Hobby Supply dose ship intenationally.
Yes he ships to Australia.
Another Yes he takes PayPal.
Yes again I fly a Belt CP with a Dx6i, Carbon fiber frame, CNC bearing mounts, and Super Skids. Next upgrade is a CNC rotor head, and tail gear box. By the way all of my upgrades came from Michael at US Hobby Supply, and No I do not work for him, nor am I an Investor in his business. I belive in supporting the small businesses in this world of huge conglomerate corperations like X-heli, Raidentech, Sears, Kmart etc..

I will be glad to help you where I can. I certainly do not know it all I still ask questions.

Have A Great Day

OK, well I'll go on his site and have a look around. Yes, I have the same stand point as you - I take sides with the smaller ones.

Those three things are all I need ;-) It looks like you guys have a network of "trading partners" for want of a better term, on here. That's the way to do it I guess.

Evening All:
Any of you hover heads know anything about airbrushing?? As in paint brands, and types? And of course where I screwed up?

I was going to Airbrush my new T-Rex SE canopy for my Belt CP, and when I put the color over a silver base coat the color melted the silver and blended in. The base coat is Testers Enamel, cut 1 to 1 with testers thinner. It was allowed to dry for 24+ hours. The color was Red Metal flake Testers enamel, cut 50% with thinner.
Salvaged the canopy, just wiped off the paint taking the silver base coat off with it.

Thanks for the help in advance

My guess is that cut 50% with thinner and going on too wet caused it. Try to apply it drier.

Hi all,
I need some expert heli advice if someone can provide it. I just received a JR XP8103 tx and R770S receiver both on 72.310. The receiver requires a large battery to operate and I didn't want to mount it on my heli just yet. Can I put the 72.310 crystal in the stock esky receiver and have it work right? I've tried and it didn't work so far, but I figured it was some switch or setting that I was missing. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Afternoon Fishing159:
I wish it was that easy, but unfortunatly the recievers must match the transmitter brand and type in most applications. The only exception to this that I am aware of is the Spektrum and JR DSM systems, the TX and RX are interchangeable with these two systems.

Mark, are you sure that the RX actually requires the separate battery. They're usually only required in non-electric helis that don't have batteries. The BEC (battery eliminator circuit) built into your ESC should power it. I'd give it a try.

Thanks Ron and Bill. You are right about the battery. From what I've found out, the receiver battery is just to test the servo operation while the heli is on the ground that way I don't use the main battery. Now I have another problem. All three servos (elev, aile, pitch) operate independently of each other and not in unison like they normally do with the stock tx. Rt/Lt stick inputs operates one servo, Fw/Rr stick inputs operates another. The throttle and tail work, but I can't get the tx programmed right. I've made sure that heli mode is selected on the tx, but I am at a loss on what else to do. I thought it would at least let me plug it all in and get a little air time, but I was very wrong on that assumption. Any ideas? Thanks again.
