You do not need a 10 channel radio. You could easilly fly this plane on a 6 channel. However, the higher you go up in channels, the more programmable the radio tends to be. Something like the JR 9303 or Futaba 9CAP, would be plenty for intermediate to advanced setups. As far as "can you build it?" - if you know lefty-loosy, righty-tighty, and can read, you can assemble this plane with little to no hassle. As far as doing so in 10-12 hours, no way. It can be done by two experienced builders working together with all the equipment ready to install, but a novice builder by himself, nope. Still, if you started on it on a monday, you should be able o have it flying by the following weekend, working on it 4-6 hours a day.
