OK I lied.... I forgot I had to open up the bottom pipe tunnel holes on the fuse and I had to cover the rear bottom hatch covers. I used a old soldering iron to open all the screw holes in the fuse.
I painted the inside of the pipe tunnels and engine boxes with Polyurethane to fuel proof it and seal the edges of the monokote.

When out and got the paint matched today and have it in hand. I use Base Coat Clear Coat in Dupont Chroma system. That is over 3 bills worth of paint and those are only pints of paint in the cans!! The pint of red was over $80.
I also rigged up some holders for the parts, sanded everything and they are ready for primer. I already have primer, hardener, reducer, clear, and activator or the paint bill would have been much higher!
I don't think I can do much work on it until Friday or this weekend but maybe by next week this build will be complete except for the setup.

OK, the paint saga... Sanded and prepped everything. Cleaned and prepped with wax, grease, silicone paint prep. Tacked everything and shot the epoxy primer that Dupont recommended for bare fiberglass.
Everything fish eyed except the canopy and landing gear. All the fiberglass parts were a complete mess. At that point I stopped for the night.
Today, Sunday, I decided to go forward with the canopies so I could see some progress and get something finished.
I spent the day wet sanding and prepping them, then shot the color. It looked pretty good so I moved ahead with the clear coat. They turned out OK but I have a lot of dust nibs in the clear coat. That is to be expected with a gravel driveway and dust everywhere. I don't have a paint both so I do the best I can.
As for the fiberglass parts, I pretty much have to start all over. I will prime with high build primer/filler then sand 90% of it away. I am disappointed that I could not get closer to finishing but thats that way it goes with paint.

Ohhh, before anyone ask's....
The paint line one the canopy is lower then the covering (blue and yellow) joint line on the fuse for a reason.
A red pin stripe will follow the bottom edge of the canopy, once it reaches the covering it will cover the joint between the yellow and blue on the fuse.
