i have it and love it! if you liked the original mx3 then this is for you. it has the same features, fully digital, and yes has a failsafe (tx only). the failsafe prevents runaways from loss of signal or low tx battery, but no failsafe for low/no rx battery power to the reciever. a great raido for the price!!!!

ITS AWESOME!! Just got it on Saturday. Here is what I can say about it so far.

The overall appearance looks great. If you like the MX-3 then you will like this radio. Same thing but with a few changes. If youve never owned an MX-3 its very clean and basic, (just the way I like my radios). Not complicated at all. Its very light weight and feels really good in your hands. I like the fact that there is no antenna to mess with. Its one of the coolest features on the radio. The other really nice touch is the steering wheel, it comes in this really nice chrome with the airtronics logo in the middle of it, looks very nice. The receiver is TINY! I mean TINY! This thing is small. I had an HPI micro and it had an airtronics super micro receiver (the blue one) on it but the receiver that comes with the MX-3 FHSS is smaller than that. It works out great for me because I am currently building a Mugen MTX3 and I dont have too much space on the car. The radios screen is awesome, very clear and I really like the menu - Its very easy to toggle through and set the radio.

I am currently building the car now so I have no road testing information yet but Ill keep you updated once I run the car.

Ill post pics this afternoon!

Its not that long. Ill take pictures of it this afternoon and measure it so I can give you exact measurements. I don't know about cutting it, Im not that brave! Besides I would hate to mess it up. Ive heard of guys running the antenna cord along the side of their cars. (Dont know how they stick it to the chassis) but they say that works also. As soon as I get the car running I will test it out and write up a little review here for you guys!

Didnt see anything in the manual about trimming or cutting the antenna. Send me a PM with your email, I can scan the manual and send it to you. Im at work and dont have the pics but Ill post them when I get home this afternoon.

If you are planning on buying the radio I would highly recommend it. As I mentioned before, it looks great feels great and its a pretty good buy in my opinion. I purchased it at A-Main hobbies, they are selling it for $179.99. Thats the cheapest price Ive found on-line.
