Yeah thanks Mark. From the research I'm pretty sure I'm going to take the plunge into the A123 batteries for my giant scale applications.

Close to finished. Just have spinner and prop to fit and few more electrical loose ends and its done! The wheel pants have been painted to match the covering and Bad Brad Graphics is working on the decals. Motor will be run this weekend.

Mark,

I will put in on the scales tonight but I did weigh things as I was building and was computing it to be in the high 9-lb range. All the equipment is in it now so I should be able to get a good dry weight. Will post tonight.

David

I weighed it....a bit of a surprise. It a little more than I expected at 1-oz shy of 12-lbs. All those electronics and batteries really add up! Hopefully that 26cc is up to it.

David.

Actually you did pretty good for an 80" plane with a gas motor on it. Sub 12 lbs is pretty good. We used to get 11 1/2 lbs with the 80" profiles running an OS 160 and typical gear.

All right, David. You had a whole weekend to get that thing run in and flying. Any news?

Mark

Sorry Mark, no report yet. This past weekend the weather did not give me a chance. I was also lacking the prop bolt and thrust washer but I got those today. Tonight, I re-arranged the fuel tank and battery layout to move the CG farther forward. It is much better now and I am ready for a maiden flight.

Weather this week looks bad also: rain/snow just about every day.

David.

A-men to that! While I love my foamies I decided to break-the-bank this past weekend.....I purchased a heli! Looking forward to goofing around with it. By-the-way those flying hydro's are a blast in the snow!

While the weather continues to delay any possibility of a maiden I have done the final touches on the plane. I finally got my CF 18x6 prop and cut the spinner tonight. I also put all the decals on it from Bad-Brad Graphics.

David.

Wow Dave I like the Fusion graphic you came up with. Really nice. I sure wish our weather would cooperate so we could test fly that baby. Have you broke in the engine yet or run it on the plane?
