Attention Tim:

My 960 is having some AC issues that I believe are related to the cord or internal power supply. I can charge DC fine, but when I try AC it displays ERR at least half of the time. When it does not display ERR, it charges for what appears to be the correct duration. The problem is that when it stops charging, the battery is not charged at all. I unplugged the AC cord during one of the charges, and it did not cause any disruption in the charger....? The charger continued to show that it was charging, with no power supply. Have you seen this with any other 960s? I've only had the charger for 2 days, but it is beginning to drive me crazy. I'm charging 2000mah NIMH batteries on every setting possible with the 960 (.5, 1.0, all the way to 4.5) and I still get no charge. The batteries are not heating up at all, nor is the charger (not even the slightest bit). Please let me know if this is a common problem with the 960s. Thank you,

Jake

It very well could be the cord.

I am surprised that Tim has not seen this yet. I am sure he will get to it or you could email MRC directly or call them if you wanted to. http://www.modelrectifier.com/contactus/index.asp

Sorry, I must've missed this one. It does sound like a problem with either the AC cord, or the power supply inside the charger. Do you notice a voltage gain in the battery when in the charge mode?

No, the voltage doesn't raise.

OK...here's a silly question. Do you have an electric razor? The reason I'm asking, the charge cord from a lot of electric razors is exactly the same as the cord we use on the charger. If you have one, test the charger with the cord from your razor just to eliminate whether it's the cord or not.
