This was a wide spread problem when the Greve's first hit the US, in Europe the guys running 35mhz didn't have the problem.

I gave up on winter in 1993. It was the best move I ever made.

Yea......It is going to hit 51 degrees today.

Bad news.......There is a steady rain for the next 3 days predicted. Booooo Hooooo !!!!!!

I see why you gave up on winters and moved.

I am no expert on that, but it doesn't sound like it would be a big problem for how little you need to move the end of the headers. I would think it would depend on where you are heating them and with what you are bending them with ?

I have heated and bent K&S SS headers with no problem. I bolted the header to a steel block and held it in a vice. I didn't want to put that much force on my cylinders. I tried to heat as much of the elbow as posible. I was able to move mine 3/8" down and to the side. steel should do the same. If you can get a helper and use two torches at once I think you would be better off. It is hard to get a large area hot with just one torch.

Thanks joe,I'm building up my nerve!LOL!Inotice you are running 2 recievers and have the antennas in fuse.I thought you wer'nt supposed to do that? You done that before and have a good range check?I've always run mine out to each stab tip.I hate having the wires out! When i use one reciever i run in fuse.I'm not saying you can't I've just been told not to. Vann, I have always installed my antenna inside the fuse whether it is a 1 or 2 rcvr setup. I never have had any issues. Attached is one of my planes I flew this past season. First setup is with 1 rcvr and 2nd pic is when I added the PB RRS setup, how I run with 2 rcvrs. Note the two tubes going through the rear of fuse. One goes vertical and the other is horizontal.
I have also run 2 along the fuse sides in my other planes in a roller coaster fashion with the high point of one being matched with the low point of the other. No problems this way as well. I have run antenna inside my fuse since the early 80's.
Note how I did this Yak install. Similar to how I had my Extra. 1 vertical and the other Horizontal. When I say vertical, I mean I have the end of the antenna end up at the top of the inside of the turtle deck. It will start out Horizontal, but ends up going vertical.
I would be totally surprised if I can't run them inside on this plane. Besides, He is giving you one setup for the antenna all ready installed along the left side of fuse. I added the secound with my wife's help. Could not get my arms down through the brace work to attach the antenna mounts.

Joe looks good to me.I'm going to give it a try on mine. What kind of range check do you get?Did you see qq's recommended range check on horizons site?I'm going to try it on mine if i ever finish it,problems problems,I was trying to set up my pull pull today and the geometry is off,It appears i did'nt get my control horn in right, that not going to be easy to fix!I tried to call and email qq's aircraft,no response. This is when i wish i waited for the aeroworks Yak to come out.DAWG.I guess ill put a drill bit in the dremal and grind the horn out and order a new one if they ever respond.I think how i bugger'd it is one side of the rudder is shaped differently than the other and using a template like in instructions will give crappy results .Hell i ain't no builder.Any ideas? Thanks, Vann

Vann,

Sorry to hear about the rudder problem. Can you get any pics posted. Hard to tell if I got any ideas without seeing the problem. Take one looking straight down the hingeline with rudder centered if you can. One from each side also.
I know when I installed mine, I was not too happy with what I was seeing and moved the rudder horn back in the slot to have the control horn holes line up with the hinge line. Maybe if you are too far forward in the slot, you can look at drilling a new set of holes in the horn to be in line with the hinge line and the same distance out from the center on the hinge line. Just an idea. If that is where your problem is.

Joe,I think that the .275 forward of the hinge line is ok,its just stuck out too far to the left side of rudder. While using the template the contour of the rudder is different on the left than right. It gets tight and wants to spring back while moving rudder to full right.I'll post some pics as soon as i can find my camera! Thanks for the help,Vann

Vann,
Just went a rechecked my rudder setup. I used a temp guage for the 11/16" measurement that is required. So, I do have the 11/16" to the bolt hole centers measured from the rudder bevel as shown in the
