In some pictures it appears that the spinner is low relative to the opening in the cowl. Is it an illusion or is the spinner not in the center of the cowl opening?

It must be an illusion. The spinner is perfectly centered on the cowl. I will get some pics from center of cowl.

Mine is centered in the cowling. When looking at mine, it is right on the centerline of the two cowling halves.

R.C.Rob,

I notice in your pics there are wings next to the QQ Yak fuse. Are those for this plane and did they come with those silver wing bags ?

I did not get any bags and I thought the plane was going to be included with wing bags.

They are for the QQ yak but they cost an extra 50 bucks i think it was. they asked me if i wanted to buy them when i called and ordered the plane. I wish i had just spent another 50 bucks and bought a wing pac from air wild or a wing tote from tower would be much nicer.

I'm still trying to see if I can transport this plane in my truck. Can anyone give the measurement from the front of the spinner to the tip of the rudder?

My wife is planning to get the plane for me for Christmas, but I don't see how it is going to work out with the truck. I'm probably the first guy in history to tell the wife to buy a smaller plane (the QQ 102" Yak)!

Vann,
Heck, I am ready to move. We had maybe a total of 8" of snow last week. Now it has been raining for the last 2 days and most is gone, but now I know the fields will be swamps. Plus to beat all, I am on a 7 day a week work schedule through the beginning of the next year. No test flying here anytime soon, sorry to say. I am bummed, but looking forward to the chance if I get it. 3 of my buddies just came back from flying a week in southern Ga. but I was unable to go because of no vacation time. I would have loved that. The weather was great for them.

I will keep you posted if I get the chance to fly.

I am going to use a 5" spinner. From what i can measure, you would be looking at around 115" in length. If you take spinner cone off and turn the rudder I would call it around 106" in length.

Plus another option is to build the plane so that the rudder is removeable. The rudder is 12" from hingeline to the TE of the rudder. Just for additional info, the landing gear spread is 36-37" with wheel pants.
