Status: offline 		Hey guys, well it came today. My new Wild Hare Ultimate. I also got the 3MM 53cc Engine for it so we will see how it goes.
When I opened the box it was packed up nce and secure and wit closer inspection of all the parts everything looks good.
The is one thing, looks like tyhere are some scratches on the inside of the canopy, but I still need to take a closer look and see, but other than that looks great.
I havn't started the build yet, I will be getting to that in the next day or so. I am planning on keeping this going through the build, so if any one has any suggestions let me know.

Status: offline 		I'll play along. I got one of the new ones in and have had it sitting around for a couple of months waiting for work to slow down. I've only done the servo's sofar and mounted the tail feathers and landing gear. I'll kickin/help where I can but don't have any pics. I'll take some if you or others wish though. I'm slinging a DA50 on the front. Does anyone have any idea about the weight difference between the two?

Looking forward to watching your build and maiden and let me know if I can be of help.

Status: offline 		Well according to the manual for the engine it is 3lb, 10oz with out the ignition. I will weight the total package, engine\muffler\ignition and battery. That way we we can get a total weight.

Status: offline 		OK, I checked the weight and with the ignition, battery and muffler the TOC 3mm engine weighted in at 5lb 3oz.

Status: offline 		OK, so far I have the upper and lower winds joined. In the manual they recommend to use gorilla glue.
So far it looks pretty good, using the gorilla glue, only thing is since it expands it came out of the seam, so now I just have to go over and clean it up a bit.

Now one thing was with the TOC engine there are no stand offs. I went and picked some today so I should be able to get the engine mounted this weekend.
I will post some pics when I get them off the camara.

Status: offline 		John, I have Hitech 645MG for the Ailerons and rudder (May change, not sure yet) and I ordered two HI 5645 for the elevator.
I am going to switch everything to 5645s as funding permits.
I have to stop at the store today and get longer screws so I can get the engine mounted tonight, I will have more pics once I get them off the camera.

I have 5645's on my three year old WH Edge. I went with 5945's on the WH Ultimate. As has been said here before, the centering on the 56 series is not as accurate as the 59 series. I notice the difference in servos from the Edge to the Ultimate. Had I not gotten the Ultimate with the 59 series servos, I might not have cared...how about that. For sport, general flying, the 56 series is fine IMO. Since I am a sport flyer, I have dialed down the throws on the Ultimate....so I can keep up with it.

You will just love that plane, Ken. Look forward to seeing it at the field.

I was looking in to the coreless 59 servos (I think those are coreless) and the one reason I did not go with them is the torque wasn't enough. so I figured the 56 servos would be better. For now I am just looking to do sport flying, you know me, I am no 3Der but I do like scale aerobatics, so I am looking forward to it.

Status: offline 		Well here are the pic of the wing. I had to finesse the center spare a bit to get it fit in correctly, but other than that the wing haves went together with out any problems.

Status: offline 		OK, well I was able to get the wings joined a few days a go, but tonight I finely got the engine mounted. I followed the instructions, by setting the engine on the firewall and cutting out the cowl to fit the engine so you can position it centered in the cowl. Then I marked the firewall arount the engine mounts through the fount of the cowl and removed the cowl with out moving the engine.
This is a good technique if the cowl is premounted and there is not movement in the cowl position.
Problem i had was the distance from the firewall to the fount of the cowl is 7 inches, so I needed to add about 1 inch standoffs to the engine to raise it to the correct distance, but I was only able to find 1 3/16" standoffs at the LHS, so for now I will use that, it will give me a bit more space than I wanted between the cowl and the spinner, but thats OK.
