Not so quick there on the sound. You can ask anyone that's heard my Hangar 9 P40 on a flyby.
Those big empty cowlings tend to act as a echo chamber, really sound off when you're running an APC gasser prop.

Shocked the gas fliers when it landed and I pulled batteries out of it.

Status: offline 		While not as loud as a glow motor, the Me-109 I have actually sounds much more realistic than a glow motor. Add a sound system to an electric and there's really no comparison to the realism.

First I have a 132" Vickers Wellington. Powered by 2 E-flite 110's with CC85HV speed controls. It has 20 A123 cells in each nacelle. I fly for 8 minutes but can get a 10-12 minute run.
it weighs 31 -32 lbs ready to fly

This is my 60 size P40 ( with others)

simple conversion that really went without incident

running a 6s 4100 mah 120 A esc
DX6i set and an eflight 60 motor spinning a 14x8 prop

Status: offline 		Here's my H-9 P-47, powered by a Turnigy 50-65B-350 on 6S spinning a 16X12E prop. It runs right about 1150 Watts, and I get a 9 min flight on a 5000ma pack.
I made a battery hatch in the top of the fuse, and built a battery tray where the fuel tank location was. No need to remove wing for battery changes. I also ran a 2S LiPo with a voltage regulator for the retracts, separate from the BEC for the RX.
I also threw in a pic of my E powered B-17, even though it's not quite a .60 size. It does have a 65" W/S, and flies on 4 Turnigy 35-30-1400 SK motors, spinning 8X4E props.

Status: offline 		About your TP 5000mah 6S Lipos: Are those the 20C ProLite?

I've got 3 60-sized planes that use the ThunderPower ProLite 20C 5000mah 22.2 volt 6S lipo. This battery is smaller and lighter than the equivalent Tunrigy or Zippy lipo. However, at $219 it's much more expensive than the Turnigy ($54). I designed my planes around the TP ProLite which has been worry free.

Status: offline 		Here is my latest build, a 60" wingspan Hawker Hurricane. AUW is 4lbs,7ozs. It will run on 3S/4400, 60 amp Turnigy Plush, carries hobboc retracts. Graphics are on the way from Callie's.

Status: offline 		No pics yet. I'm getting rolling of a Byron P-51 kit.

I just got a Neu 1521/1.5Y/F/6.7HD motor and Castle 110HV ESC.
I plan to run it on 8S2P with 4 - 4S 4000mah packs.

Swinging the 24x15 4 blade at 4000 rpm it should pull 106a
The eCalc numbers look really good.

Right now I'm working on making a backing plate for the 4 piece prop and spinner.
Then I'll tackle mods to mount the Neu..
The front former that held the reduction drive will have to be modified to clear the motor.
I'm looking at building a box to hold the batteries and mount the motor and ESC on that.
The goal is to make the motor/battery box modular so I can pull it out for easy maintenance or mounting in other aircraft.
Otherwise it'll be a normal Byron build.
